Scheelite related compounds with general formula Mn(XO4)m are of interest owing to their optical properties, stability and relatively simple preparation. Eu3+-containing scheelites are considered as red emitting phosphors and the main factors affecting the ...

PILATUS X-ray detectors are in operation at many synchrotron beamlines around the world. This article reports on the characterization of the new PILATUS3 detector generation at high count rates. As for all counting detectors, the measured intensities have ...

In the spin-crossover compound Fe(6-mepy)(3)tren(2), (6-mepy)(3)tren=tris{4-[(6-methyl)-2-pyridyl]-3-aza-butenyl}amine, the high-spin state can be populated as a metastable state below the thermal transition temperature via irradiation into the meta ...

The Hoffman-type coordination compound [Fe(pz)Pt(CN)(4)]2.6H(2)O (pz=pyrazine) shows a cooperative thermal spin transition at around 270K. Synchrotron powder X-Ray diffraction studies reveal that a quantitative photoinduced conversion from the low-spin (LS ...

The synthesis and characterization of a new class of neutral aminyl radicals is reported. Monoradicals were obtained by reduction of azoimidazolium dyes with potassium. Structural, spectroscopic, and computational data suggest that the spin density is cent ...

C70(CF3)16 and C70(CF3)18, the first trifluoromethylated fullerene derivatives to comprise a pair of adjacent CF3 groups, have been isolated from a mixture obtained via reaction of C70 with CF3I, characterized in a single crystal XRD study and theoreticall ...

Enantioselective synthesis of a 3-D inorganic net has been achieved leading to metal–organic frameworks built from cobalt-oxide helices in which handedness is controlled by the chirality of the linked ligand. ...

The reaction of cis-blocked, square-planar MII complexes with tetratopic N-donor ligands is known to give metallasupramolecular assemblies of the formula M2nLn. These assemblies typically adopt barrel-like structures, with the ligands paneling the sides of ...

A novel isomer of C70(CF3)6 has been isolated by HPLC from a mixture prepared by trifluoromethylation of C70 with CF3COOAg. The X-ray structure revealed an unprecedented arrangement of CF3 groups forming a p3mp ribbon. This result provides additional evide ...

We wish to report the discovery of a new and unexpected polymorph of dicesium tetracyanoplatinate. Short, linear chains of five platinum atoms (platinum “needles”) appear in a zigzag arrangement, interspersed by isolated tetracyanoplatinate ions. ...

Some nonenzymic epoxide-initiated polyolefin cyclisations are reported. The presented molecules are partially constrained analogues of (3S)-oxidosqualene, the natural substrate to many important cyclase enzymes. These model compounds feature a preformed C- ...

Dinuclear clathrochelate complexes are easily accessible by reaction of zinc(II) triflate or cobalt(II) nitrate with arylboronic acids and phenoldioximes. The utilization of brominated arylboronic acids and/or brominated phenoldioximes allows preparing cla ...
