3D ultrasound imaging is quickly becoming a refer- ence technique for high-quality, accurate, expressive diagnostic medical imaging. Unfortunately, its computation requirements are huge and, today, demand expensive, power-hungry, bulky processing resources ...

Ambipolar transistors with on-line configurability to n-type and p-type polarity are desirable for future integrated circuits. Regular logic tiles have been recognized as an efficient layout fabric for ambipolar devices. In this work, we present a process/ ...

Nanowire crossbar circuits are an emerging architectural paradigm that promises a higher integration density and an improved fault-tolerance due to its reconfigurability. In this paper, we propose for the first time the utilization of the multi-spacer patt ...

Reconfigurable parallel computing is required to provide high-performance embedded computing, hide hardware complexity, boost software development, and manage multiple workloads when multiple applications are running simultaneously on the emerging network- ...

Rapid single-flux quantum (RSFQ) is one of the most advanced and promising superconducting logic families, offering exceptional energy efficiency and speed. RSFQ technology requires delay registers (DFFs) and splitter cells to satisfy the path-balancing an ...

Multi-ion potentiometric sensing becomes challenging for mixed-ion samples in which interfering electrolytes significantly alter the response of each single sensor. Therefore, an emulator based on the phase-boundary potential model is proposed to simulate ...

Monolayer thin films with ethylene-glycol function onto gold surfaces by using thiols have been extensively investigated. They have been proposed as precursors for applications to bio-detection, where their hydrophilic character improves both specificity a ...

An amperometric biosensor for adenosine 5 -triphosphate (ATP) was developed applying a competitive assay of two glucose converting enzymes: glucose oxidase (GOD) and hexokinase (HEX). Competition between GOD and HEX for glucose in presence of ATP, lead to ...

Biconditional Binary Decision Diagrams (BBDDs) are a novel class of binary decision diagrams where the branching condition, and its associated logic expansion, is biconditional on two variables. Reduced and ordered BBDDs are remarkably compact and unique f ...

The equivalent English title: "Design of Custom Networks-on-Chip with Physical Layout Information" Abstract translated into English: Due to the growing demand of communication between processors and memory devices in Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), recently the ne ...

In this paper, we investigate the opportunity brought by controllable-polarity transistors to design efficient reconfigurable circuits. Controllable-polarity transistors are devices whose polarity can be electrostatically programmed to be either n- or p-ty ...

Ultrasound imaging is a technique widely used in medicine to visualize organs and other body structures, capturing their position, size, morphology and any pathological lesions. Its use is unfortunately limited to specialized centers with trained personnel ...

Reversible logic synthesis is an emerging research area to aid the circuit implementation for multiple nano-scale technologies with bounded fan-out. Due to the inherent com- plexity of this problem, several heuristics are proposed in the literature. Among ...

This work presents the design and the realization of a flexible front-end circuitry for electrochemical sensing with wearable devices. The hardware combines readout circuitry for amperometric and Open Circuit Potential (OCP) measurements. The sensing platf ...

A routing architecture for fast interconnections between Look-Up Tables (LUTs) in a group of Basic Logic Elements (BLEs), whereby a size of the group ranges from 1 to k+1, where k is the number of inputs of a LUT, and LUTs in the group are indexed from 1 t ...

Due to recent advances, constraint solvers have become efficient tools for synthesizing optimum Boolean circuits. We take advantage of this by showing how SAT based exact synthesis may be used as a method for finding minimum length Boolean chains. As oppos ...

In this work, we present a novel electrochemical cleaning procedure for long-term electrochemical monitoring of propofol by using boron-doped diamond (BDD) and pencil graphite electrode (PGE). Propofol is an anesthetic that is widely used for long-lasting ...

Carbon nanotubes have been attracting a lot of interest as electron transfer mediators to enhance electrochemical biosensing. The main reason behind this is usually recognized in terms of augmented electrochemical active surface area. The aim of this paper ...

We present a complete automatic synthesis framework for oracle functions—a central part in many quantum algorithms. The proposed framework for resource-constrained oracle synthesis (ROS) is an LUT-based hierarchical method where every step is specifically ...

Embedded SoC designs are embracing the many-core paradigm to deliver the required performance to run an ever-increasing number of applications in parallel. Networks-on-Chip (NoC) are considered as a convenient technology to implement many-core embedded pla ...
