Laurent-Dominique Piveteau is an executive in the life science industry. He served as the CEO of Debiotech from 2015 to 2025, a company he joined in 2005. Prior to this,, he held various positions in R&D and business development. During his PhD thesis, he collaborated with the Robert Mathys Foundation. He then worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, MA, US), focusing on contrast media for MRI, and was involved in technology transfer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) (Switzerland). Additionally, he co-founded NextKidney, a spin-off of Debiotech, and taught Innovation Economics at EPFL. He is a non-executive director at RSP Systems, a Denmark-based medtech startup, and at Oxyprem AG, based in Zürich.Laurent-Dominique holds an MSc in Physics from ETH Zürich (Switzerland), a PhD from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), and an MBA from INSEAD in Singapore and Fontainebleau (France). Teaching & PhD Courses Strategic management of innovation MGT-425 The purpose of this course is to describe innovation and how it impacts business dynamics. It also aims to teach students how to think strategically and holistically about technological innovation, new product development and market deployment.
