A series of imidazolium dicarboxylic acids have been prepd. from the reaction of the 1,3-bis(carboxymethyl)imidazolium zwitterion with the Bronsted acids HX (X = F, Br, Cl, ClO4). The structures of these acids have been established in the solid ...

We achieve a 20-58 nm (610-1890 cm (1)) blue-shift of the phosphorescence maximum of iridium(III) complexes (CN)(2)Ir(NN) of 1,10-phenanthrolines (NN) by modifying the cyclometalating 2-phenylpyridine ligand (CN = ppy) with an electron-w ...

Imidazolin-2-imine and imidazolidin-2-imine ligands are versatile N donors in transition metal chemistry. Here, we describe the synthesis and characterization of (arene)Ru complexes with these ligands. Simple adducts of the type [(p-cymene)Ru(L)Cl-2] (L = ...

The syntheses and single crystal X-ray structural analysis of five novel hetero- and homometallic μ3-oxo trinuclear cluster with the formula [FeIII2MII(μ3-O)(μ-O2CCH3)6(4-Rpy)3] · x(4-Rpy) · y(CH3CN) where R ) Ph for 1(Fe2Mn),2(Fe2Fe), 3(Fe2Co), 4(Fe2Ni) a ...

The synthesis of vinyl triazenes by metal-catalyzed processes is attractive, but only few examples have been described so far. Here, we describe Rh-catalyzed [3+2] annulation reactions of arylboronic acid derivatives and alkynyl triazenes. These reactions ...

A cyclic tetranuclear cyclometallated iridium(III) complex using cyanide anions as bridging ligands and displaying a tetrahedrally distorted square geometry has been obtained with high yield; photo- and electrochemical characterizations show that most inte ...

The heterobitopic ligands LABX (X=1,2, 3,4 or 5),diff ering only by a Cl or NEt2 substituent, have been designed to complex with a pair of lanthanide ions to form triple-stranded bimetallic helicates of overall composition [Ln2ACHTUNGTRENUNG(LABX)3]6+. The ...

A good catch: N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) form stable adducts with nitrous oxide (N2O) under mild reaction conditions. The adducts display unique reactivity as evidenced by an alkylation reaction which leads to a rupture of the NN bond. ...

Single-atom (group 15 and group 16 anions) bridged dimetallic complexes of low oxidation state uranium provide a convenient route to implement multielectron transfer and promote magnetic communication in uranium chemistry, but remain extremely rare. Here w ...

The use of crystal engineering to control the supramolecular arrangement of pi-conjugated molecules in the solid-state is of considerable interest for the development of novel organic electronic materials. In this study, we investigated the effect of combi ...

The high stability of the + IVoxidation state limits thorium redox reactivity. Here we report the synthesis and the redox reactivity of two Th(IV) complexes supported by the arene-tethered tris(siloxide) tripodal ligands [(KOSiR2Ar)3-arene)]. The two-elect ...

Radical-bridged diuranium complexes are desirable for their potential high exchange coupling and single molecule magnet (SMM) behavior, but remain rare. Here we report for the first time radical-bridged diuranium(IV) and diuranium(III) complexes. Reaction ...

The nickel(II) hydride complex [(MeN2N)Ni-H] (2) was synthesized by the reaction of [(MeN2N)Ni-OMe] (6) with Ph2SiH2 and was characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopy as well as X-ray crystallography. 2 was unstable in solution, and it decomposed via two re ...

Investigations of blue phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on [Ir(2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridine)(2)(picolinate)] (FIrPic) have pointed to the cleavage of the picolinate as a possible reason for device instability. We reproduced the ...

Vinyl triazenes were obtained by enantioselective [2+2] cycloaddition reactions of bicyclic alkenes with 1-alkynyl triazenes in the presence of a RuII catalyst with a chiral cyclopentadienyl ligand. These triazenes serve as unique vinyl cation surrogates. ...

In extension with growing concern to develop new antimicrobial organometallic drugs, an attempt has been made to synthesize five new antimicrobial organotin(IV) carbodithioates with general formula, Me2SnClL (1), Me2SnL2 (2), Et2SnClL (3), Et2SnL2 (4), Bu2 ...

A series of ruthenium-benzene complexes with β-diketiminate ligands modified with electron-withdrawing groups were prepd. and characterized by NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and single-crystal x-ray diffraction. The complexes are stable in air and un ...

New heterobinuclear lanthanide complexes with benzoxazole-substituted 8-hydroxyquinolines, [Ln(ligand)2(μ-ligand)2Na] (Ln: Yb, Lu), have been prepared and their structure established by X-ray crystallography, 1H NMR spectroscopy, and photophysical studies. ...

Isomerization and olefin exchange experiments show that β-H elimination is kinetically viable but thermodynamically unfavorable in [(MeNN2)Ni-alkyl] complexes. The intermediacy of Ni-hydride species was corroborated by a trapping experiment. The alkyl comp ...

Reaction of the pentamethylcyclopentadienyl rhodium iodide dimer Cp*RhI2 with 1,1'-diphenyl-3,3'-methylenediimidazolium diiodide in non-alcohol solvents, in the presence of base, led to the formation of bis-carbene complex [Cp*Rh(bis-NHC)I] I (bis-NHC ...
