This paper explores the potential of VeFETs for mixed-signal circuits. A new physics-based compact DC model of the VeSFET operated in subthreshold region is presented and used to derive 1st-order sensitivities of the device threshold voltage to process var ...

A closed-loop oscillator topology is proposed for dynamic sensor operation of nanoelectromechanical systems, benefiting from the structure's quality factor. Automatic adaptation to diverse sensors' properties is achieved via a self-regulating phase-locked ...

A tunable and self-regulating on-chip carbon nanotube based mass balance is presented for small-size and low-cost environmental and healthcare applications. Tube stretching and a phase-locked loop topology make the system widely universal and invariant to ...

This paper presents a hierarchical design methodology based on the inversion factor (IF) as a key design parameter and the equations of the EKV MOS Model. A structured design approach is used to allow high flexibility. The efficiency of the methodology is ...

A novel technique for the continuous calibration of the sensitivity of Hall sensors is presented. Using an integrated coil and a new modulation/demodulation scheme, the sensitivity is measured and its drift eliminated. The obtained thermal drift is 50 ppm/ ...

This paper presents a new modeling methodology accounting for generation and propagation of minority carriers that can be used directly in circuit-level simulators in order to estimate coupled parasitic currents. The model is based on a new compact model o ...

This paper presents a 5th-order ΔΣ capacitive accelerometer. The ΔΣ loop is implemented in mixed signal, the global 5th-order filter having a 2nd-order analog and a 3rd-order digital part. The system can be used with a wide range of sensors, because the mi ...

This paper presents a fully integrated Hall sensor microsystem with a current-mode output. The system operates in open-loop and includes a Hall sensor with internal biasing, a fully differential front-end, a preamplifier chain and a voltage-to-current conv ...

This paper presents a methodology for digitally calibrating analog circuits and systems. Based on the detection of an imperfection by a simple comparator, a successive approximations algorithm tunes a compensation current. The latter is generated by a sub- ...

Contactless current measurement based on Hall-effect sensors can be performed in either closed-or open-loop configuration. In this paper an open-loop sensor system with a current-mode output is described. The system measures the magnetic field induced arou ...

This paper presents the application of a complete digital calibration methodology to the improvement of a Hall sensor-based current measurement microsystem. It is a step-by-step illustration of how generic calibration techniques and circuits can be used on ...

Mass sensing has so far rather developed along the resolution axis, reaching atomic-scale detection, than into the direction of high speed. This letter reports on a novel self-calibrating technique that makes high-speed inertial mass sensors capable of ins ...

This paper describes the analysis and design of a dynamic supply CMOS audio power amplifier for low-power applications. The dynamic supply technique is used to increase the efficiency of a class AB power amplifier. The polarization of its output stage is a ...

This paper presents a compact- and a macro-model for estimating and simulating the perturbations induced in the substrate by high-voltage transistors switching inductive loads. On one hand, it allows the designer to predict the amount of switching noise ge ...

In many applications, a Hall element is used for contact-less measurement such as linear and angular positions, electrical current, power and energy, etc. The Hall element fabricated by means of CMOS technology features mediocre characteristics [R.S. Popov ...
