We report a systematic density functional theory (DFT) computational investigation of Ru(II) sensitizer/TiO2 systems relevant to dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Focusing on the prototypical N719 and the recently introduced YE05 sensitizers, and conside ...

Improvements to perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have focused on increasing their power conversion efficiency (PCE) and operational stability and maintaining high performance upon scale-up to module sizes. We report that replacing the commonly used mesoporous ...

A series of new it-conjugated organic dyes (HKK-BTZ1, HKK-BTZ2, HKK-BTZ3 and HKK-BTZ4), comprising triphenylamine (TPA) moieties as the electron donor and benzothiadiazole moieties as the electron acceptor/anchoring groups, was synthesized for the use in d ...

Three unsymmetrical squaraine dyes JK-64, JK-65, and JK-64Hx, containing a bulky spirobifluorene or hexyloxyphenyl unit are designed and synthesized. These sensitizers, when anchored onto a TiO2 surface, exhibit decreased aggregation as well as enhanced un ...

State-of-the-art halide perovskite solar cells employ semiconductor oxides as electron transportmaterials. Defects in these oxides, such as oxygen vacancies (Ovac), act as recombination centres and, in air and UV light, reduce the stability of the solar ce ...

Perovskites have been demonstrated in solar cells with a power conversion efficiency of well above 20%, which makes them one of the strongest contenders for next generation photovoltaics. While there are no concerns about their efficiency, very little is ...

A perovskite material including an organic-inorganic perovskite structure of formula (I), AnMX3 (I), n being the number of cation A and an integer >4, A being a monovalent cation selected from inorganic cations Ai and/or from organic cations Ao, M being a ...

A method for the simultaneous production of hydrogen and oxygen from water by the visible light irradiation of a water solution containing photosensitizer, an electron relay and a suitable combination of redox catalysts.

A new D-pi-A organic dye, LC-5, containing 4,9-dihydro-4,4,9,9-tetrahexyl-s-indaceno[1,2-b:5,6-b']-dithiophene as a novel pi-conjugated spacer has been synthesized and tested as a sensitizer in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC). Volatile and ionic liquid el ...

The present invention relates to optoelectronic and/or electrochemical devices comprising an organic charge transporting material which is liquid at a temperature of =180 DEG C. In particular in dye-sensitised solar cells, quantum efficiency higher than wi ...

Recently organicinorganic hybrid perovskites have attracted attention as light harvesting materials in mesoscopic cells. While a considerable number of deposition and formation methods have been reported for the perovskite crystalline material, most involv ...

The understanding of mixed ionic-electronic conductivity in hybrid perovskites has enabled major advances in the development of optoelectronic devices based on this class of materials. While recent investigations revealed the potential of using dimensional ...

Metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have shown an incredible increase in efficiency, reaching as high as 25.7%, which now competes with traditional photovoltaic technologies. Herein, we excluded CsX and RbX (X = I–, Br–, Cl–), the most commonly used cations to ...

Herein, green porphyrin sensitizer Y350-based dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) with binary ionic liquid-based electrolytes are studied, which are a mixture of 1-methyl-3-propyl-imidazolium iodide and 1-methyl-1-butylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluromethylsulfony ...

PCT No. PCT/IB95/00786 Sec. 371 Date Mar. 24, 1998 Sec. 102(e) Date Mar. 24, 1998 PCT Filed Sep. 25, 1995 PCT Pub. No. WO97/12382 PCT Pub. Date Apr. 3, 1997The present invention aims at improving the catalytic activity of the metallic platinum deposited on the substrate of the counterelectrode (i.e., the cathode), so as to obtain a high value of the catalytic activity on the reduction reaction of triiodide to iodide essentially independent of the nature of the solvent used in the electrolyte. To that effect

Four organic donor–π-bridge–acceptor dyes containing phenothiazine as a spacer and cyanoacrylic acid as an acceptor were synthesized and tested as sensitizers in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). The influence of iodide- and cobalt-based redox electrolyte ...

Despite the outstanding role of mesoscopic structures on the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) in the regular (n-i-p) architecture, mesoscopic PSCs in inverted (p-i-n) architecture have rarely been reported. Herein, an efficient and ...

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites have attracted attention as successful light harvesting materials for mesoscopic solid-state solar cells and led to record breaking efficiencies. The photovoltaic performance of these devices is greatly dependent on the ...

Semitransparent dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) are appealing as aesthetically pleasing and colorful see-through photovoltaics. Green semitransparent DSCs have been presented, but the best ones rely on green zinc porphyrin photosensitizers and high volat ...
