A sensor for measuring adsorption on a substrate has been designed including a contactless detection scheme, called supercapacitive admittance tomoscopy (SCAT). The sensor comprises a thin dielectric layer with two parallel band electrodes on the one side ...

A highly active and stable electrochemical catalyst of nanoporous molybdenum carbide nanowires (np-Mo2C NWs) has been developed for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The np-Mo2C NWs were synthesized simply by pyrolysis of a MoOx,/amine hybrid precursor wi ...

Experimental studies and density functional theory (DFT) computations suggest that oxygen and proton reduction by decamethylferrocene (DMFc) in 1,2-dichloroethane involves protonated DMFc, DMFcH+, as an active intermediate species, producing hydrogen perox ...

Aqueous protons reduction by decamethylferrocene in 1,2-dichloroethane can be catalyzed efficiently by platinum and palladium nanoparticles electrogenerated in situ at the liquid–liquid interface. ...

Macromolecular mass fingerprinting using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry is a quick tool for biochemical analysis. In combination with algorithms for automated data analysis and interpretation, it has wide appli ...

The study electrochemistry is pertinent to a wide variety of fields, including bioenergetics, environmental sciences, and engineering sciences. Intended both as a basic course for undergraduate students and as a reference work for graduates and researchers, this book covers two fundamental aspects of electrochemistry: electrochemistry in solution and interfacial electrochemistry. By bringing these two subjects together into a single volume, the author clearly establishes the links between the physical found

On-line electrogeneration of mass tags in a microspray emitter is used to quantify the number of cysteine groups in a given peptide. A finite-element simulation of the multi-step process yields the relative distribution and concentration of tags, untagged ...

Two peptides known to interact with receptors embedded in cell membranes, angiotensin III (AngIII) and Leuenkephalin(LeuEnk), were studied electrochemically at the interface formed between two immiscible electrolyte solutions modified by an adsorbed monola ...

A microwater vertical bar butyronitrile (W vertical bar BCN) interface was used to study the effect of the interfacial chemical polarization on the efficiency of the visible-light induced water oxidation reaction (WOR) by the electron acceptor/ photosensit ...

Cysteine-containing peptide oxidation was studied both by using an inert platinum electrode and a sacrificial electrode (copper or zinc) generating metallic ions in electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). Using peptides containing one, two and ...

A few seconds flash photopyrolysis is used as efficient screening tool for the investigation of selected biomass in producing syngas, hydrogen and biochar. This innovative approach allowed rapid pyrolysis of the biomass, which was followed by a precise gas ...

Multitrack electrospray chips (MTEC) were fabricated by UV-photoablation of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates. They are composed of an array of up to six microchannels that are successively used as electrospray ionization (ESI) emitters for mass ...

Pico-second time-resolved time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) technique under the total internal reflection (TIR) condition has been used to study the photophysical properties of Coumarin 343 (C343) dye molecules adsorbed at the water/1,2-dichlo ...

Imaging samples on a surface by mass spectrometry (MS) requires the combination of MS detection with a scanning mode that enables localized desorption and ionization and/or detection of sample analytes with good spatial resolution. We have developed a new ...

Meet at the border: Assembly of the water-soluble cobalt tetrakis(N-methylpyridinium-4-yl)porphyrin [CoTMPyP]4+ at soft interfaces is enhanced and stabilized by its interfacial interaction with the lipophilic anion (C6F5)4B−. The supramolecular structure t ...

Enhanced charging, or supercharging, of analytes in electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI MS) facilitates high resolution MS by reducing an ion mass-to-charge (m/z) ratio, increasing tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) efficiency. ESI MS superchargin ...

A device for monitoring the adsorption of target molecules on a substrate, the device comprising a substrate (1), at least a portion of which is formed as a thin dielectric layer. A first, modified surface (2) of the layer has ionizable groups of the subst ...

A finite element simulation has been used in order to study the partition chromatography process of one species between an aqueous mobile phase and an organic stationary phase located at the bottom of a rectangular microchannel. The transient model incorpo ...

A microchip reactor has been developed on the basis of a layer-by-layer approach for fast and sensitive digestion of proteins. The resulting peptide analysis has been carried out by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization timeof- flight mass spectromet ...

Scanning electrochemical microscopy with soft microelectrode array probes has recently been used to enable reactivity imaging of extended areas and to compensate sample corrugation perpendicular to the scanning direction. Here, the use of a new type of mic ...
