Even with correct training, up to 25% of children never master handwriting like their peers. While research shows a correlation between handwriting difficulties and school failure, these difficulties can also impact children in their self esteem and behavi ...

This paper presents a self contained approach to the theory of convolution operators on locally compact groups (both commutative and non commutative) based on the use of the Figà–Talamanca Herz algebras. The case of finite groups is also considered. ...

A convolution algebra is a topological vector space X that is closed under the convolution operation. It is said to be inverse-closed if each element of X whose spectrum is bounded away from zero has a convolution inverse that is also part of the algebra. ...

We present a self-contained proof of the following famous extension theorem due to Carl Herz. A closed subgroup H of a locally compact group G is a set of p-synthesis in G if and only if, for every u is an element of A(p)(H) boolean AND C-00(H) and for eve ...

For the group of endo-permutation modules of a finite p-group, there is a surjective reduction homomorphism from a complete discrete valuation ring of characteristic 0 to its residue field of characteristic p. We prove that this reduction map always has a ...

Sparse recovery is a powerful tool that plays a central role in many applications, including source estimation in radio astronomy, direction of arrival estimation in acoustics or radar, super-resolution microscopy, and X-ray crystallography. Conventional a ...

Consider the following property of a topological group G: every continuous affine G-action on a Hilbert space with a bounded orbit has a fixed point. We prove that this property characterizes amenability for locally compact a-compact groups (e.g., countabl ...
