Dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) generate motion resembling natural muscles in reliability, adaptability, elongation, and frequency of operation. They are highly attractive in implantable soft robots or artificial organs. However, many applications of ...

This data set contains the data collected during the FNS project Green Piezo (Grant no. 179064) in association with the recent publication entitled “Low-temperature processing of screen-printed piezoelectric KNbO3 with integration onto biodegradable paper ...

Dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) are interesting soft actuators compared to other actuation technologies owing to large achievable actuation strains, high energy density and fast actuation. However, because DEAs need to be operated under high electric ...

HfO2-based ferroelectrics are considered a promising class of materials for logic and memory applications due to their CMOS compatibility and ferroelectric figures of merit. A steep-slope field-effect-transistor (FET) switch is a device for logic applicati ...

Humidity, temperature and membrane prestretch influence the dielectric breakdown strength of elastomer membranes. These three factors thus also influence the maximum force and strain that dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) can generate, as the Maxwell p ...

Dielectric elastomer generators (DEGs) are flexible capacitors that convert mechanical into electrical energy. They rely on an external voltage source to charge the capacitor during each operation cycle. An alternative to this is an autonomous DEG which op ...

In the past half-century, the semiconductor industry has relied on the scaling of complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) transistor dimensions and on material and geometrical innovations to increase the computational density. Approaching the end of ...

Owing to its peculiar energy dispersion, the quantum capacitance property of graphene can be exploited in a two- dimensional layered capacitor configuration. Using graphene and boron nitride, respectively, as the electrodes and the insulating dielectric, a ...

The goal of this thesis is the combination of the high spatial resolution of scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) with the high temporal resolution of optical spectroscopy, by monitoring the light emitted from the tunnel junction. Two complementary techniqu ...

Purpose: The resistivity dependence on temperature of composite resistors made of carbon fillers dispersed in an organic matrix are known to be strongly affected by the matrix thermal expansion. High positive temperature coefficient (PTC) effects, i.e. ess ...

Silicon technology has advanced at exponential rates both in performances and productivity through the past four decades. However the limit of CMOS technology seems to be closer and closer and in the future we might see an increasing number of hybrid appro ...

A systematic study was carried out to assess property changes in CaCu3Ti4O12 thin films upon annealing in air in order to evaluate the impact of oxygen vacancies on their colossal dielectric constant behavior. Highly preferentially oriented thin-film sampl ...

Ferroelectric ceramic – polymer composites have a unique mix of electrical and mechanical properties. Piezoelectric and pyroelectric activity, a wide range of dielectric constants and high breakdown strength are combined with mechanical flexibility, formab ...

In this work a prototype of micro force sensor of range μN...mN is presented. Instead of the traditional piezoresistive strain sensing through thick-film resistors used for higher forces, a more effective principle is used: measurement of beam displacement ...

In this work we seek to better understand the mechanisms governing pulse voltage trimming in disordered conductor-insulator composites. Therefore, we investigate the effect of the composition of thick-film resistors (TFRs) on sensitivity to high voltage pu ...

In this work, the properties (sheet-resistance, temperature coefficient and piezoresistance / gauge factor) and stability of thick-film resistors with low firing temperatures (525...650°C) are studied. To this end, two low-melting lead borosilicate glass c ...

The motivation of this study is the need for fundamental understanding of the effects of processing conditions on the electrical properties of low- temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) tapes, those screen printed with commercial thick-film pastes of electro ...

LTCC technology offers low temperature firing (

In this work, a set of low-temperature thick-film dielectrics consisting of two high-lead low-temperature glasses, stabilised by various amounts of alumina filler, is characterised on alumina and aluminium metal, as a function of firing temperature. Corres ...

Thick-film technology has found applications on miniaturised hybrid circuits in various fields (automotive electronics, televisions, ...). This technology is also now widely used for the fabrication of force and pressure sensors that use the piezoresistive ...
