Reconfigurable finite-impulse response (FIR) filters are one of the most widely implemented components in Internet of Things systems that require flexibility to support several target applications while consuming the minimum amount of power to comply with ...

The sound quality in a room is of fundamental importance for both recording and reproducing processes. Because of the room modes, the distributions in space and frequency of the sound field are largely altered. Excessive rise and decay times caused by the ...

A new model reference data-driven approach is presented for synthesizing controllers for the CERN power converter control system. This method uses the frequency re- sponse function (FRF) of a system in order to avoid the problem of unmodeled dynamics assoc ...

Electrothermal actuators have many advantages compared to other actuators used in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). They are simple to design, easy to fabricate and provide large displacements at low voltages. Low voltages enable less stringent pass ...

Swarms of autonomous MAVs show great potential in many diverse applications. In a search and rescue mission, a group of MAVs could quickly reach disaster areas by flying over obstacles, cluttered and inaccessible terrains, and work in parallel to detect an ...

This paper presents a concept of sensorless electroacoustic absorber for damping the low-frequency modes in a cavity such as a duct or a room. Taking advantage of the reciprocity of the voice coil transducer, it is shown that a synthetic electrical admitta ...

A loudspeaker array is described including several circular sound emitters that are bunked. One circular sound emitter can be either a circular array of loudspeakers (kind 1) or a toroidal loudspeaker (kind 2). The loudspeaker array can be composed of circ ...

Microphone arrays are central players in hands-free speech interface applications. The main duty of a microphone array is capturing distant-talking speech with high quality. A microphone array can acquire the desired speech signals selectively by leading t ...

This paper presents a serial link transceiver (TRX) architecture that enables high-speed data transmission over a lossy backplane channel without the presence of equalization circuits. The proposed architecture employs multi-tone signaling to reduce inter- ...
