Measurements of galaxy clustering are affected by redshift-space distortions (RSDs). Peculiar velocities, gravitational lensing, and other light-cone projection effects modify the observed redshifts, fluxes, and sky positions of distant light sources. We d ...

Disordered systems under applied loading display slow creep flows at finite temperature. Renormalization group arguments predicted that creep proceeds via thermal avalanches of activated events. Recently, thermal avalanches were argued to control the dynam ...

The spin-fermion (SF) model postulates that the dominant coupling between low-energy fermions in near critical metals is mediated by collective spin fluctuations (paramagnons) peaked at the N & eacute;el wave vector, QN, connecting hot spots on opposite si ...

Verifying the fully kinematic nature of the long-known cosmic microwave background (CMB) dipole is of fundamental importance in cosmology. In the standard cosmological model with the Friedman–Lemaitre–Robertson–Walker (FLRW) metric from the inflationary ex ...

We formulate a kinetic theory of quantum information scrambling in the context of a paradigmatic model of interacting electrons in the vicinity of a superconducting phase transition. We carefully derive a set of coupled partial differential equations that ...

Context. The Gaia DR3 catalogue contains, for the first time, about 800 000 solutions with either orbital elements or trend parameters for astrometric, spectroscopic, and eclipsing binaries, and combinations of these three.Aims. With this paper, we aim to ...

In an earlier work [1], we introduced dual-Parameterized Quantum Circuit (PQC) Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN), an advanced prototype of quantum GAN. We applied the model on a realistic High-Energy Physics (HEP) use case: the exact theoretical simula ...

In the third study, the order-disorder phase transition of single-crystal C60 is studied using time-resolved electron microscopy. Solid C60 undergoes a first-order phase transition upon heating to 260 K. This is a structural transition from the low-tempera ...

Motivated by the need to perform large-scale kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) simulations, in the context of unravelling complex phenomena such as catalyst reconstruction and pattern formation, we extend the work of Ravipati et al. [S. Ravipati, G. D. Savva, I.-A ...

Truly wearable, fully flexible, and multiparametric sweat analysis with soft and socially discrete packaging offers tremendous potential to enable the next generation of noninvasive digital biomarkers analysis. Several examples of miniaturized potentiometr ...

We investigate experimentally and theoretically the impact of valence band mixing and spectrum of confined states on the polarization of light emitted from or absorbed by GaAs/AlGaAs semiconductor quantum dots and quantum wires with tailored heterostructur ...

We derived stellar ages and metallicities [Z/H] for similar to 70 passive early-type galaxies (ETGs) selected from VANDELS survey over the redshift range 1.0 < z < 1.4 and stellar mass range 10 < log(M-*/M-?) < 11.6. We find significant systematics in thei ...

The phase diagrams of highly frustrated quantum spin systems can exhibit first-order quantum phase transitions and thermal critical points even in the absence of any long-ranged magnetic order. However, all unbiased numerical techniques for investigating f ...

We present new broad-band X-ray observations of the z similar to 2.5 lensed quasar 2MASS J1042+1641, combining XMM-Newton, Chandra, and NuSTAR to provide coverage of the X-ray spectrum over the 0.3-40 keV bandpass in the observed frame, corresponding to th ...

Inverse probability problems whose generative models are given by strictly nonlinear Gaussian random fields show the all-or-nothing behavior: There exists a critical rate at which Bayesian inference exhibits a phase transition. Below this rate, the optimal ...

We report high-resolution single-crystal inelastic neutron scattering measurements on the spin-1/2 antiferromagnet Ba(TiO)Cu-4(PO4)(4). This material is formed from layers of four-site "cupola" structures, oriented alternately upwards and downwards, which ...

Bioelectronic implantable systems (BIS) targeting biomedical and clinical research should combine long-term performance and biointegration in vivo. Here, recent advances in novel encapsulations to protect flexible versions of such systems from the surround ...

A significant effort has recently been initiated at ETHZ for the development of high frequency, high power, frequency-agile gyrotrons for DNP-NMR spectroscopy. In this context an in house cavity interaction code is under development. In this paper, some de ...
