Navigation of drones is predominantly based on sensor fusion algorithms. Most of these algorithms make use of some form of Bayesian filtering with a majority employing an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF), wherein inertial measurements are fused with a Global N ...

This paper presents an investigation on the possibility of arecanut palm leaf as a biomaterial substrate for various microwave devices such as transmission lines, antenna, filter and a radio frequency identification device (RFID). The dielectric properties ...

Integrated microring resonators are well suited for wavelength-filtering applications in optical signal processing, and cascaded microring resonators allow flexible filter design in coupledresonator optical waveguide (CROW) configurations. However, the imp ...

Solar radiation reaching the surface of the earth for a period of one hour contains more energy than that consumed by mankind over an entire year. Some of this solar energy is already collected by photovoltaic cells to cover the electricity needs of buildi ...

The ITER Heating Neutral Beam (HNB) source prototype SPIDER (Source for the Production of Ions of Deuterium Extracted from a Radio frequency plasma), hosted at the Neutral Beam Test Facility (NBTF) in Padova, Italy, has recently started operating with evap ...

Two prominent categories for achieving coordinated multirobot displacement are flocking and navigation in formation. Both categories have their own body of literature and characteristics, including their respective advantages and disadvantages. While typic ...

Voice activity detection (VAD) is an important pre-processing step for speech technology applications. The task consists of deriving segment boundaries of audio signals which contain voicing information. In recent years, it has been shown that voice source ...

This paper concerns the planning, design, and construction history of a postwar multifamily housing block in Ankara, Turkey, viewed from the perspective of the transnational and local networks behind its realization. Built by the Mintrak Building Cooperati ...

This paper demonstrates the capability of locally resonant metamaterials (LRMs) for creating compact metallic waveguide E- and H-bends, which are simultaneously working as bandpass filters. For creating these bent meta-filters, we use composite pin-pipe wa ...

Despite numerous applications of physically-based models for incised landscapes, their applicability for overland flow on unchanneled surfaces is not known. This work challenges a widely used landscape evolution model for the case of non-uniform rainfall a ...

In many applications, a dataset can be considered as a set of observed signals that live on an unknown underlying graph structure. Some of these signals may be seen as white noise that has been filtered on the graph topology by a graph filter. Hence, the k ...

This paper proposes a novel technique for the design of miniaturized Ka-band filters based on locally resonant metamaterials (LRMs), which are fabricated monolithically using lost wax casting. We implement ultra-small metamaterial filters by exploiting a n ...

This paper presents the use of a novel type of resonators made of a thin membrane of Y-cut Lithium Niobate that has an array of interdigitated electrodes on the top, and a floating metal on the bottom. Each electrode gives rise to a quasi-independent reson ...

Depth sensing is an increasingly important feature in many applications of consumer, automotive, augmented/virtual reality (AR-VR), space and bio-medical imaging. Long range, high depth resolution, high spatial resolution, and high frame rates are often co ...

In the field of UAV object tracking, correlation filter based approaches have received lots of attention due to their computational efficiency. The methods learn filters by the ridge regression and generate response maps to distinguish the specified target ...

We propose a simultaneous noise filtering and phase unwrapping algorithm. Spatial evolution of phase is modeled as an autoregressive Gaussian Markov random field. Accordingly, phase value at a pixel is related to phase values at surrounding pixels in a pro ...

Wave manipulation at a subwavelength scale has recently attracted significant interest, especially for low-frequency wave propagation, from acoustic to microwave devices. Recently, a few methods achieving subwavelength routing using locally resonant metama ...

Binary dielectric metasurfaces are arrays of sub-wavelength structures that act as a thin layer of artificial material. They are generally lossless and relatively simple to fabricate since only a single structuring step is required. By carefully designing ...

A method of estimating a value (311-313) indicative of a signal component of an input imaging dataset (190) includes determining a normalized Fourier-domain representation of the input imaging dataset (190); and for each one of multiple low-pass filters (3 ...

Small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) have penetrated multiple domains over the past years. In GNSS-denied or indoor environments, aerial robots require a robust and stable localization system, often with external feedback, in order to fly safely. Motion ca ...
