Stochastic stimulation has been shown to improve movement, balance, the sense of touch, and may also improve position sense. This stimulation can be non-invasive and may be a simple technology to enhance proprioception. In this study, we investigated wheth ...

An a posteriori error estimate is derived for the approximation of the transport equation with a time dependent transport velocity. Continuous, piecewise linear, anisotropic finite elements are used for space discretization, the Crank-Nicolson scheme schem ...

We propose a novel controller for powered prosthetic arms, where fused EMG and gaze data predict the desired end-point for a full arm prosthesis, which could drive the forward motion of individual joints. We recorded EMG, gaze, and motion-tracking during p ...

Photogrammetry and Laser-Scanning are usually considered as complementary. Integration of these two observation methods has the potential to blend their individual advantages. The resulting benefit is likely to be higher in drone airborne mapping, which pa ...

We propose a cheaper version of a posteriori error estimator from Gorynina et al. (Namer. Anal. (2017)) for the linear second-order wave equation discretized by the Newmark scheme in time and by the finite element method in space. The new estimator preserv ...

We introduce a distributionally robust minimium mean square error estimation model with a Wasserstein ambiguity set to recover an unknown signal from a noisy observation. The proposed model can be viewed as a zero-sum game between a statistician choosing a ...

Proper modeling of stochastic errors in inertial sensors plays a crucial role in the achievable quality of GNSS-INS integration especially with low-cost inertial sensors. Generalized Method of Wavelet Moments (GMWM) can model the underlying process for suc ...

Fractional Levy motion has been derived from its generalized Langevin equation via path integrals in earlier works and has since proven to be a useful model for nonlocal and non-Markovian processes, especially in the context of nondiffusive transport. Here ...
