Flow cell arrays (FCAs) provide efficient on-chip liquid cooling and electrochemical power generation capabilities in three-dimensional multi-processor systems-on-chip (3DMPSoCs). When connected to power delivery networks (PDNs) of chips, the current flowi ...

The possibility to manipulate spin textures is of central importance for their utilisation in functional materials. Here it will be shown how the resulting changes in the spin texture of the electronic structure can directly be imaged by spin- and angle-re ...

In this paper, we present an analysis of the propagation effect along a lossy ground on the characteristics of lightning-generated electric fields, using simultaneous observations of lightning currents and radiated fields measured at nine different distanc ...

Far-field measurements of lightning-produced electromagnetic fields are of high importance for lightning location systems. Data from recorded lightning strokes can be, for example, used to assess the risk of lightning-induced damage in some geographical ar ...

We present a new engineering model for the M component mode of charge transfer to ground that can predict the observed electric field signatures associated with this process at various distances, including (a) the microsecond-scale pulse thought to be due ...

Upward lightning happens predominantly from tall objects. The channel-base currents associated with upward negative lightning initiated from towers exhibit pulses that can be classified, based on their waveform features and on the concurrence with other pr ...

Meteorological conditions favoring the initiation of upward lightning from tall structures have been only poorly investigated so far. In addition to the scientific interest in this subject, it has practical applications to risk assessment for lightning occ ...

This paper presents an analysis of the lightningproduction of convective cells. The cells were detected by the MeteoSwiss Thunderstorms Radar Tracking (TRT) algorithm in the course of a lightning measurement campaign thattook place in the summer of 2017 in ...

In upward flashes, charge transfer to ground largely takes place during the initial continuous current (ICC) and its superimposed pulses (ICC pulses). ICC pulses can be associated with either M-component or leader/return-stroke like modes of charge transfe ...

The capability to process high-resolution videos in real-time is becoming more important in a wide variety of applications such as autonomous vehicles, virtual reality or intelligent surveillance systems. The high-accuracy and complex video processing algo ...

Conventional device scaling has been the main guiding principle of the MOS device engineering over these past years. However, this aggressive scaling would be eventually limited due to the inability to remove the heat generated by MOSFET devices. The power ...

The revolution of information-technology owes to silicon-based complementary-metal-oxide (CMOS) technology. However, CMOS technology approaches its physical limitation hardening the further progress of memory devices as well as computing paradigm requiring ...
