Temporal modulation of components of electromagnetic systems provides an exceptional opportunity to engineer the response of those systems in a desired fashion, both in the time and frequency domains. For engineering time-modulated systems, one needs to th ...

Dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) have extremely advantageous characteristics such as lightness, compactness, flexibility, and large displacements. However, in order to operate, they can require voltages in the order of several thousands of volts. Thus ...

A detailed analysis on the Sawyer–Tower method used in the measurement of large-signal output capacitance (Co) of power transistors is presented, followed by important design recommendations to obtain accurate results. Key factors affecting the proper impl ...

In neurostimulation, wireless power transfer is an efficient technology to overcome several limitations affecting medical devices currently used in clinical practice. Several methods were developed over the years for wireless power transfer. In this review ...

Implantable systems are nowadays being used to interface the human brain with external devices, in order to understand and potentially treat neurological disorders. The most predominant design constraints are the system’s area and power. In this paper, we ...

This paper proposes a hybrid impedance control architecture for an electroacoustic absorber, that combines an improved microphone-based feedforward control with a currentdriven electrodynamic loudspeaker system. Feedforward control architecture enables sta ...

This paper provides detailed analytical modelling and finite elements method (FEM) analysis of the medium frequency transformer (MFT) leakage inductance, as one of the key design factors governing the operation of galvanically isolated power electronics co ...

This research presents a high-speed hardware platform dedicated to emulate electrical power networks for the fault location. The solution implements an algorithm based on the Electromagnetic Time-Reversal (EMTR) principle, which allows locating faults in v ...

This paper reports the results of two experimental campaigns aimed at studying the high-frequency response of a raceway containing low voltage power, telephone, and Ethernet cables, to external electromagnetic field illumination. The raceway was tested aga ...
