A-site cation mixing can enhance the photovoltaic performance of a wide-bandgap (WBG) perovskite, but rubidium (Rb) cation mixing generally forms a nonperovskite phase. We report that lattice strain locks Rb ions into the α-phase of the lattice of a triple ...

Ultrasmall CsPbI3 perovskite quantum dots (QDs) are the most promising candidates for realizing efficient and stable pure-red perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs)1, 2, 3, 4–5. However, it is challenging for ultrasmall CsPbI3 QDs to retain their soluti ...

We demonstrate the beneficial effect of a pre-annealing step prior to the boron diffusion on passivation and contact resistivity of industrially LPCVD deposited poly-Si/SiOX hole-selective contacts. We investigate the influence of the pre-annealing tempera ...

Singlet fission (SF) is a multiexciton-generating process whereby an excited state singlet (S1) is converted into two lower-energy triplets (T1). The inclusion of a SF-capable material into a photovoltaic device offers the potential for the absorption of p ...

Polymer light-emitting electrochemical cells (PLECs) and light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) receive interest for large-area lighting and signage applications. During operation of a PLEC, a p-i-n junction develops where electrons and holes are injected into the ...

Following the 1st release of the "Emerging photovoltaic (PV) reports", the best achievements in the performance of emerging photovoltaic devices in diverse emerging photovoltaic research subjects are summarized, as reported in peer-reviewed articles in aca ...

Methylammonium lead iodide doped with cesium (MA(1-x)Cs(x)PbI(3), x = 0, 0.03, 0.05, 0.1) thin films were prepared with and without chlorobenzene (CB). X-ray diffraction analysis applying the Rietveld refinement method is carried out, and the effect of Cs ...

The performance of perovskite solar cells is under direct control of the perovskite film quality and controlling the crystalinity and orientation of solution-processed perovskite film is a fundamental challenge. In this study, we present a scalable fabrica ...

High performance of both photovoltaic and electroluminescent devices requires low nonradiative recombination losses. In perovskites, such loses strongly depend on the carrier traps related to the mobile ions and vacancies, causing I-V hysteresis of solar c ...

Series resistance in solar cells limit their maximum conversion efficiency and thus should be minimized. Generally, such losses originate from deficiencies at the contact or absorber level. Quantifying them is the first step for tackling its reduction. In ...

The achievement of high efficiency and high stability in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) requires optimal selection and evaluation of the various components. After a brief introduction to the perovskite materials and their historical evolution, the first par ...

Perovskite solar cells have recently reached staggering efficiencies, through efforts focused on reducing grain boundaries, by enlarging the size of the crystalline domains that constitute the perovskite films. Here, we demonstrate that smaller crystallite ...

We review our recent results on the implementation of picosecond (ps) X-ray absorption spectroscopy to probe the electronic and geometric structure of centres formed by photoexcitation of solar materials such as TiO2 polymorphs and inorganic Cs-based perov ...

A new aliphatic fluorinated amphiphilic additive is added to CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite to tune the morphology and enhance the environmental stability without sacrificing the performance of the devices. Judicious screening of the perovskite precursor solution r ...

The best organic solar cells are limited by bimolecular recombination. Tools to study these losses are available; however, they are only developed for small area (laboratory-scale) devices and are not yet available for large area (production-scale) devices ...
