The alkyne motif is a versatile functional group often encountered in organic chemistry. It can be involved in various transformations such as the alkyne-azide cycloaddition and has found widespread application in medicinal chemistry, chemical biology and ...

We report a copper-catalyzed alkynylation of azadipeptides using ethynylbenziodoxolone (EBX) reagents. Nonsymmetrical ynehydrazides could be obtained in 25–97% yield using azaglycine derivatives as nucleophiles. The transformation is compatible with most f ...

A methodology for the C-H azidation of N-terminal proline-containing peptides was developed employing only commercially available reagents. Peptides bearing a broad range of functionalities and containing up to 6 amino acids were selectively azidated at th ...

Over the past twenty years, photochemical transformations have gained in importance in organic chemistry. Indeed, the development of photocatalysts has allowed the use of visible light as an energy source for chemical transformations. More specifically, ph ...

Thorium nitrides are likely intermediates in the reported cleavage and functionalization of dinitrogen by molecular thorium complexes and are attractive compounds for the study of multiple bond formation in f-element chemistry, but only one example of thor ...

Multimetallic cooperativity is believed to play a key role in the cleavage of dinitrogen to nitrides (N3-), but the mechanism remains ambiguous due to the lack of isolated intermediates. Herein, we report the reduction of the complex [K-2{[U-V(OSi((OBu)-Bu ...

The activation of small molecules is a paramount challenge in modern chemistry. The use of cheap and abundant molecules such as N2, H2, CO2, or CO as energy supplies or as precursors for fine chemicals production is highly desirable. In particular, the onl ...

Three novel dyes consisting of a 5,8,15-tris(2-ethylhexyl)-8,15-dihydro-SH-benzo[1,2-b:3,4-b':6,5-b '']tricarbazole (BTC) electron-donating group and a 4,7-bis(4-hexylthiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole (BTBT) pi-bridge with an anchoring group of phen ...

Micro-particle formation in low pressure silane (SiH4) plasmas has been of technical interest and concern for at least 40 years. Negative ion plasma chemistry is a candidate for the initial nucleation, which has been extensively studied both experimentally ...

Aromatic compounds containing triazenyl groups (N3RR′) have a profound impact on synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry. In contrast, the chemistry of vinyl and alkynyl triazenes was a largely uncharted territory until recently. The situation has change ...

Investigating molecular excitations with femtosecond time resolution is of pivotal importance to understand the out-of-equilibrium processes taking place in molecular systems upon light absorption. The photochemistry of solvated species is heavily determin ...

Reaction of N-arylsulfonyl allylamines with alkyl nitriles in the presence of di-tert-butyl peroxide (DTBP) and a catalytic amount of copper salt afforded homologated aziridines in 43-86% yield. A sequence involving addition of the in situ generated cyanom ...

The synthesis, structure, and reactivity with CO2 and CS2 of new U(IV) complexes with a redox-active Schiff base are reported. The reaction of UI3 with the heptadentate Schiff base ligand 2,2',2 ''-tris(salicylideneimino)-triethylamine (trensal) did not le ...

The goal of this thesis is to explore the "neglected" third dimension of layered materials, by studying the interlayer charge dynamics through dc conductivity, optical spectroscopy and ab-initio calculations. This project was designed to respond to the gro ...

Among the prerequisites for the progress of single-molecule-based electronic devices are a better understanding of the electronic properties at the individual molecular level and the development of methods to tune the charge transport through molecular jun ...

The development of new processes for the selective and sustainable transformation of abundant small molecules constitutes one of the major research areas in inorganic and organometallic chemistry. These molecules as CO2, CO, N2 and H2 are abundant reservoi ...

Uranium nitride complexes are of high interest because of their ability to effect dinitrogen reduction and functionalization and to promote magnetic communication, but studies of their properties and reactivity remain rare. Here we have prepared in 73% yie ...

The self-assembly of a single layer of organic molecules on a substrate is a powerful strategy to modify surfaces and interfacial properties. Thiolates, silanes, phosphonates and carboxylates are widely used head-groups to link organic molecules to specifi ...

The tremendous isomeric diversity of carbohydrates enables a wide range of their biological functions but makes the identification and study of these molecules difficult. We investigated the ability of intermolecular interactions to communicate structural ...

In this paper, we demonstrate the fabrication of contour-mode resonators (CMRs) with Al0.83Sc0.17N as a piezoelectric layer. Moreover, we assess the electromechanical coupling and the maximum achieved quality factor from 150 to 500 MHz. In comparison to pu ...
