Let K be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, and let G be a connected reductive algebraic group over K. We address the problem of classifying triples (G, H, V ), where H is a proper connected subgroup of G, and V is a finitedimensional ir ...

We investigate generalizations along the lines of the Mordell-Lang conjecture of the author's p-adic formal Manin-Mumford results for n-dimensional p-divisible formal groups F. In particular, given a finitely generated subgroup (sic) of F(Q(p)) and a close ...

Let G be a simple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field F of characteristic p >= h, the Coxeter number of G. We observe an easy 'recursion formula' for computing the Jantzen sum formula of a Weyl module with p-regular highest weight. We also d ...

The field of computational topology has developed many powerful tools to describe the shape of data, offering an alternative point of view from classical statistics. This results in a variety of complex structures that are not always directly amenable for ...

We study the spectra of non-regular semisimple elements in irreducible representations of simple algebraic groups. More precisely, we prove that if G is a simply connected simple linear algebraic group and φ : G → GL(V ) is a non-trivial irreducible repres ...

In discrete choice modeling (DCM), model misspecifications may lead to limited predictability and biased parameter estimates. In this paper, we propose a new approach for estimating choice models in which we divide the systematic part of the utility specif ...

Let be a simple exceptional algebraic group of adjoint type over an algebraically closed field of characteristic and let be a subgroup of containing a regular unipotent element of . By a theorem of Testerman, is contained in a connected subgroup of of type ...

Let G be a simply connected simple linear algebraic group of exceptional Lie type over an algebraically closed field F of characteristic p >= 0, and let u is an element of G be a non-identity unipotent element. Let phi be a non-trivial irreducible represen ...

Given a topological modular functor V in the sense of Walker, we construct vector bundles Z (lambda) over bar, over (M) over bar (g,n) whose Chern characters define semi-simple cohomological field theories. This construction depends on a determinati ...

We show that the Flaschka map, originally introduced to analyze the dynamics of the integrable Toda lattice system, is the inverse of a momentum map. We discuss the geometrical setting of the map and apply it to the generalized Toda lattice systems on semi ...

We investigate how probability tools can be useful to study representations of non-amenable groups. A suitable notion of "probabilistic subgroup" is proposed for locally compact groups, and is valuable to induction of representations. Nonamenable groups ad ...

It is well-known that a finite group possesses a universal central extension if and only if it is a perfect group. Similarly, given a prime number p, we show that a finite group possesses a universal p′-central extension if and only if the p′-part of its a ...

Let G be a simple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field K of characteristic p >= 0, let H be a proper closed subgroup of G and let V be a nontrivial irreducible KG-module, which is p-restricted, tensor indecomposable and rational. Assume that ...

With the advent of emerging technologies and the Internet of Things, the importance of online data analytics has become more pronounced. Businesses and companies are adopting approaches that provide responsive analytics to stay competitive in the global ma ...

Motivated by recent experimental progress in the context of ultracold multicolor fermionic atoms in optical lattices, we have developed a method to exactly diagonalize the Heisenberg SU(N) Hamiltonian with several particles per site living in a fully symme ...

For a long time, natural language processing (NLP) has relied on generative models with task specific and manually engineered features. Recently, there has been a resurgence of interest for neural networks in the machine learning community, obtaining state ...

Nowadays, one area of research in cryptanalysis is solving the Discrete Logarithm Problem (DLP) in finite groups whose group representation is not yet exploited. For such groups, the best one can do is using a generic method to attack the DLP, the fastest ...

Let G be a finite group and R be a commutative ring. The Mackey algebra μR(G) shares a lot of properties with the group algebra RG however, there are some differences. For example, the group algebra is a symmetric algebra and this is not always the case fo ...
