We report a simple and effective method for producing lanthanide ion-doped lithium-fluoride-based nanocrystals (YLiF4). We utilized those nanoparticles for up-conversion in fabricated perovskite solar cells. The obtained results shows that the up-conversio ...

Graphdiyne (GDY) with a direct band gap, excellent carrier mobility and uniform pores, is regarded as a promising photocatalytic material for solar energy conversion, while the research on GDY in photocatalysis is a less developed field. Herein, the distin ...

Two novel dyes that are similar in chemical structure, except for different donor units, AJ301and AJ303 were synthesized, characterized and applied as sensitizers in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Both dyes exhibited a wide absorption of visible sunli ...

As the efficiency of commercial crystalline silicon solar cells approaches its maximum theoretical value, tandem architectures are becoming increasingly popular to continue the push to higher photovoltaic performances. Thin-film materials are particularly ...

Squaraines are organic dyes showing the advantages of a simple synthesis, high absorption coefficients and tunable bandgaps from the visible to the near-infrared (NIR) region. Their molecular structure is based on a polymethine chain and a donor-acceptor-d ...

The use of molecular modulators to reduce the defect density at the surface and grain boundaries of perovskite materials has been demonstrated to be an effective approach to enhance the photovoltaic performance and device stability of perovskite solar cell ...

Recent studies showed that SHJ solar cells can be prone to PID when encapsulated with a low volume resistivity encapsulant, such as ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). These studies also demonstrated that their degradation mechanism is different from Al-BSF modu ...

In solar water splitting, efforts in scaling up the photoelectrochemical cell beyond laboratory scale have started to attract significant attention. Several large-area devices have been demonstrated, but typically the efficiencies are much lower than their ...

The stability of perovskite solar cells is a key issue for industrial development. One reason for this is the volatile organic methylammonium (MA) cation, which is prone to degas under elevated temperatures from the perovskite. At the same time, small amou ...

A series of novel polymers (P1P6) derived from the combination of different units (including thiophene, triarylamine, and spirobifluorene) were successfully synthesized, completely characterized, and used as hole-transporting materials (HTMs) for perovskit ...

In this work, we investigate the relationship between potential-induced degradation (PID) and the bill of material used in module manufacturing. We manufacture samples with different combination of materials, using two types of solar cells (conventional vs ...

Solar modules are currently characterised at standard test conditions (STC), defined at 1000 W/m2 and 25 °C. However, solar modules in actual outdoor operating conditions typically operate at lower illumination and higher temperature than STC, which signif ...

By two‐step sequential Pb2+ adsorption and reaction with methylammonium‐iodide (MAI) or ‐bromide (MABr) at a low concentration level of 0.06–0.10 m over mesoporous TiO2 or ZrO2 film, a well‐defined nanoscale CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPbI3) photosensitizer or CH3NH3PbB ...

Pt3Ni alloy supported by carbon nanofibers (CNs) composites (Pt3Ni/CNs) synthesized by a simple solvothermal process was introduced into dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) as counter electrode (CE) for the first time, and the DSCs based on Pt3Ni/CNs CE obta ...

This invention discloses a new class of dopants that allows easy tuning of the chem., phys., optical and/or electronic properties of the doping agent in order to carefully adapt it to the desired application, such as org. solar cells or solid state dye-sen ...

We present efficient perovskite solar cells using a mesoscopic TiO2/Al2O3/NiO/carbon structure as framework. The CH(3)NH(3)Pbl(3)-based device with quadruple-layer architecture achieves a power conversion efficiency of 15.03% under AM 1.5G illumination. De ...

A series of squaraine-based sensitizers with various p bridges and anchors were prepared and examined in dye-sensitized solar cells. The carboxylic anchor group was attached onto a squaraine dye through p bridges with and without an ethynyl spacer. DFT stu ...

Low-temperature solution-processed photovoltaics suffer from low efficiencies because of poor exciton or electron-hole diffusion lengths (typically about 10 nanometers). Recent reports of highly efficient CH3NH3PbI3-based solar cells in a broad range of co ...

Semiconductor nanowires (NWs) possess a fascinating ability to efficiently collect and trap light into a sub-wavelength volume due to the occurrence of leaky mode resonances. The same confinement ability is manifested by metal nanostructures thanks to the ...

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) constitute a novel class of hybrid organic-inorganic solar cells. At the heart of the device is a mesoporous film of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles, which are coated with a monolayer of dye sensitive to the visible ...
