Despite recent advances in the field of cyclic alkyl amino carbenes (CAACs) including a few complementary synthetic strategies affording CAACs with various substitution patterns, the application potential of chiral CAACs to efficiently catalyze asymmetric ...

The chemistry of divalent lanthanides has generated increasing interest in the past years due to their redox properties and unique reaction pathways. Notably, molecular complexes of low-valent lanthanides have been shown to be suitable one-electron reducta ...

In this thesis, we exploited optical and X-ray pump-probe methods in a synergistic approach to study the interplay of the electronic, spin and structural degrees of freedom in two class of complex systems relevant for solar energy conversion applications: ...

Alkylidene ketenes typically display high intrinsic reactivity, impeding isolation on a preparative scale. Herein, we report the synthesis of alkylidene ketenes by reaction of imidazole-based diazoolefins with carbon monoxide. The good thermal stability of ...

The usefulness of percent volume buried (%V-bur) as a readily quantifiable property is investigated with regard to Cu(NN)(PP) complexes of interest for lighting purposes. Photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) and single crystal X-ray structures of ...

The enantiopure Schiff bases (R or S)-N-1-( phenyl)ethyl-2,4-X-1,X2(-)salicylaldimine (X-1, X-2 = Cl, Br, I) coordinate to copper(II) and provide pseudotetrahedral bis[(S or R)-N-1-(phenyl)ethyl-(2,4-X-1,X-2-salicylaldiminato.2N,O)]-./.-Cu(II) (kappa N-2,O ...

Most of our understanding of chemistry derives from atomic-level structures obtained with single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Metal centers in X-ray structures of small organometallic or coordination complexes are often extremely well-defined, with errors in ...

Chiral cyclopentadienyl (Cp-x) group 9 metal complexes have become versatile catalysts for a variety of efficient enantioselective C-H functionalizations. Atropchiral binaphthyl-derived Cp-x ligands having tuning options at the 3,3'-positions present a rob ...

Two dicopper (II) complexes of general formula CuLX2 {L = 2, 5-diphenyl-3, 4(2-pyridyl) cyclopenta-2, 4-dien-1-one, X = Cl (1) or Br (2)} have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis spectroscopic methods. The crystal stru ...

A series of organometallic Ru(II) complexes containing functionalized η6‐arene ligands, together with curcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin as O,O’‐chelating ligands and their RAPTA (ruthenium arene complexes bearing the 1,3,5‐triaza‐7‐phosphaadamantane ligand ...

The carbonic anhydrase inhibitor acetazolamide (AcmH2) reacted with [(η6-p-cymene)RuCl(μ-Cl)]2 to afford [(η6-p-cymene)RuCl2(κN-AcmH2)], 1A, in near-quantitative yield. In methanol, 1A exists in equilibrium with 1B, being probably a coordination isomer, as ...

The Pt(ii) -diimine complexes [PtCl2{N-2-(HCNR)(2)}] (R = C6H11, 1; 4-C6H10OH, 2; 4-C6H4CH3, 3; 4-C6H4OH, 4) and [PtCl2{N-2-(CH3CNOH)(2)}] (5) were prepared in 60-81% yields from the 1:1 molar reactions of cis-[PtCl2(DMSO)(2)] with the appropriate -diimine ...

Two carboxamide ligands, H(2)bqbenzo {3,4-bis(2-quinolinecarboxamido)benzophenone} and H(2)bqb {N,N-bis[(2-quinolinecarboxamide)-1,2-benzene]}, have been prepared using tetrabutylammonium bromide as an environmentally benign reaction medium. Two new Pd(II) ...

Dicationic ruthenium(II)-p-cymene complexes containing curcumin ligands (curcH = curcumin, bdcurcH = bisdemethoxycurcumin) and ionic N-methyl-1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane [PTA-Me]X (X = BF4 or I) have been synthesized and fully characterized for the fi ...

Dinuclear clathrochelate complexes with two, three, four, or five cyano groups in the ligand periphery were prepared following two distinct synthetic strategies: (a) zinc(II)- or cobalt(II)-templated polycondensation reactions of CN-functionalized arylboro ...

The thesis describes the utilization of dative boron-nitrogen bond is used for the construction of new materials. In chapter 2.1, the synthesis of new organogels based on bisimidazolyl ligands and diboronate esters is described. Gels with a critical gel co ...

Four arene osmium complexes were prepared containing derivatives of ethacrynic acid, a potent inhibitor of glutathione Stransferases, either by direct coordination or via N- or P-donor ligands. The complexes were characterized by spectroscopic and analytic ...

CONSPECTUS: The properties of transition metal complexes are interesting not only for their potential applications in solar energy conversion, OLEDs, molecular electronics, biology, photochemistry, etc. but also for their fascinating photophysical properti ...

A 1D, end-on azido- and phenoxo-bridged, coordination polymer, Cu-2(mu-NAPPR)(mu(1,1)-N-3)(2) (1), (NAPPR(2-) = 1,3-bis(naphthylideneimino) propane dianion), was synthesized and characterized. The 1D branched-chain is built of two types of slightly di ...
