This study focuses on 3,4-dicyano-1,2,5-selenadiazole and substituted 2,1,3-benzoselenadiazole-based cocrystals synthesized via mechanochemical methods and characterized by a combination of X-ray diffraction and solid-state NMR spectroscopy. Eight new sing ...

TiO2 has been widely used in developing self-cleaning coatings on textiles. Spin coating is widely used to prepare films due to its simplicity and the ability to control the thickness and the characteristics of the deposited layers. However, it has been sp ...

This work introduces a new methodology to predict the fatigue life of viscoelastic materials by considering the creep effect on fatigue behavior under the concurrent effects of stress level, stress ratio, and temperature. The model established based on the ...

Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.This paper presents a new uniaxial constitutive material formulation with softening for simulating the inelastic behavior of steel rectangular tubes in concrete-filled steel tu ...

Geothermal projects utilizing supercritical water (≥400 °C) could boost power output tenfold compared to conventional plants. However, these reservoirs commonly occur in crustal areas where rocks are semi-ductile or ductile, impeding large-scale fractures ...

Polymer-derived ceramics (PDCs) are a very attractive class of materials due to their excellent properties such as resistance to high temperatures and harsh environments, adjustability of mechanical and functional behavior, and compatibility with a broad r ...

Low-temperature variable-energy electron irradiation was used to induce non-magnetic disorder in a single crystal of a hole-doped iron-based superconductor, Ba1-xKxFe2As2, x = 0.80. To avoid systematic errors, the beam energy was adjusted non-consequently ...

The large variability of biological responses to beta-TCP implants reported in the literature could possibly be related to subtle differences in the beta-TCP crystal structure. The structure contains one partially occupied site Ca(4). In order to better un ...

We present a cryogenic system design and development for ice lithography. The cryo-stage is designed with embedded channels to allow direct liquid nitrogen flow, enabling fast cryogenic cooling, and low sample temperature. The stage cools down to 78.8 K in ...

The demand for metal alloys with superior structural performance in industrial applications continues to increase, as does the need for more-energy efficient materials and methods. Many materials that are otherwise attractive for structural applications ar ...

Water presence causes a dramatic reduction of sandstone strength. Under compressive stress conditions, the strength of a rock sample is controlled by frictional parameters and the fracture toughness of the material. Here, we report fracture toughness, fric ...

The structural, thermomechanical, and viscoelastic properties of metallosupramolecular polymers (MSPs) can be controlled through the choice of the multiligand monomer and the nature of the metal salt from which these materials are assembled. This versatili ...
