Hydrogen generated during the waterside corrosion of zirconium claddings can diffuse within the material, forming hydrides that alter the mechanical properties of the claddings. These hydrides may lead to detrimental effects such as delayed hydride crackin ...

We introduce a new approach to defect engineering in Zr-based metal-organic frameworks (Zr-MOFs), aiming to reduce Zr site valency while preserving high node connectivity. Using a rapid heat treatment (RHT) in humid air, oxygen vacancies (O-vacancies) were ...

Pt(II)-based molecular catalysts stand as a prototypical system in hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) owing to their consistently elevated activity levels. Their integration into heterogeneous systems thus provides an ideal platform to develop catalytic ma ...

Pyrene is one of the most widely investigated aromatic hydrocarbons given to its unique optical and electronic properties. Hence, pyrene-based ligands have been attractive for the synthesis of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) in the last few years. In this ...

Photocatalytic H-2 evolution from ethanol dehydrogenation is a convenient strategy to store solar energy in a highly valuable fuel with potential zero net CO2 balance. Herein, we report on the synthesis of CoTiO3/TiO2 composite catalysts with controlled am ...

The reactions of the dimeric complexes RuX2(eta(6)-p-cymene) (X = Br, I, SCN) with L-proline (ProH) and trans-4- hydroxy-L-proline (HypH), in methanol in the presence of NaOH, afforded [RuX(kappa N-2,O-Pro)(eta(6)-p-cymene)] (X = Br, 1b; I, 1c; SCN, 1 ...

Transition metal catalyzed Sonogashira cross-coupling of terminal alkynes with aryl(vinyl) (pseudo)halides has been successfully extended to alkyl halides for the synthesis of functionalized internal alkynes. The direct alkynylation of remote unfunctionali ...

Effect of ELMs on fuel retention at the bulk W target of JET ITER-Like Wall was studied with multi-scale calculations. Plasma input parameters were taken from ELMy H-mode plasma experiment. The energetic intra-ELM fuel particles get implanted and create ne ...

A series of organometallic Ru(II) complexes containing functionalized η6‐arene ligands, together with curcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin as O,O’‐chelating ligands and their RAPTA (ruthenium arene complexes bearing the 1,3,5‐triaza‐7‐phosphaadamantane ligand ...

The present invention concerns materials consisting in a porous and structured network, this network being at least in part formed by Si atoms, or Si atoms and metal atoms, linked to each other by oxy bridges, comprising organic molecules which include at ...

Catalysis fulfills the promise that high-yielding chemical transformations will require little energy and produce no toxic waste. This message is carried by the study of the evolution of molecular catalysis of some of the most important reactions in organi ...

Cupredoxins perform copper-mediated long-range electron transfer (ET) in biological systems. Their copper-binding sites have evolved to force copper ions into ET-competent systems with decreased reorganization energy, increased reduction potential, and a d ...

A sustainable route to store the energy provided by the Sun, is to directly convert sunlight into molecular hydrogen using a semiconductor performing water photolysis. Hematite (α-Fe2O3) is promising for this application due to its ample abundance, chemica ...

We have recently detected CO lines in the well-known filaments around NGC 1275, the galaxy at the centre of the Perseus cluster of galaxies. These previous observations, with the HERA multi-beam array at the IRAM 30 m telescope enabled us to make a large m ...
