We report a small-angle neutron scattering study of the helical and skyrmion lattice order in single-crystal Cu2OSeO3 under quasihydrostatic helium gas pressures up to 5 kbar. By using helium gas as the pressure-transmitting medium (PTM) we ensure pressure ...

High-temperature superconductors (HTSs) enable exclusive operating conditions for fusion magnets, boosting their performance up to 20 T generated magnetic fields in the temperature range from 4 K to 20 K. One of the main technological issues of HTS conduct ...

We develop a reduced-order model for thin plates made of hard magnetorheological elastomers (hard-MREs), which are composed of hard-magnetic particles embedded in a polymeric matrix. First, we propose a new magnetic potential, as an alternative to an exist ...

We show how a relativistic effective field theory for the superfluid phase of 4 He can replace the standard methods used to compute the production rates of low-momentum excitations due to the interaction with an external probe. This is done by studying the ...

We employ an effective field theory to study the detectability of sub-GeV dark matter through its interaction with the gapless excitations of superfluid 4He. In a quantum field theory language, the possible interactions between the dark matter and the supe ...

In this Letter we address the reentrance of magic-angle phenomena (band flatness and quantum-geometric transport) in twisted bilayer graphene (TBG) subjected to strong magnetic fluxes +/-(1)0, +/- 200, +/- 3(p0 ... ((D0 = h/e is the flux quantum per moire ...

We review the physics opportunities of the Future Circular Collider, covering its e(+)e(-), pp, ep and heavy ion programmes. We describe the measurement capabilities of each FCC component, addressing the study of electroweak, Higgs and strong interactions, ...

In the framework of EU design activities for dimensioning the future fusion DEMOnstration reactor (DEMO), in-depth analyses were conducted in EUROfusion context, aiming to define the design of the DEMO magnets system. For the last DEMO baseline, CEA has pr ...

The possibility for helium-induced electronic transitions in a photo-excited atom is investigated using Ba+ excited to the 6p 2P state as a prototypical example. A diabatization scheme has been designed to obtain the necessary potential energy surfaces and ...

In the framework of mixed Higgs-Starobinsky inflation, we consider the generation of Abelian gauge fields due to their nonminimal coupling to gravity (in two different formulations of gravity-metric and Palatini). We couple the gauge-field invariants F mu ...

The reduced activation tempered martensitic steel Eurofer97 is a reference steel for a structural applica-tions in fusion reactors. The first-wall and blanket materials will be subjected to high thermal and neutron fluxes and will experience very complex, ...

This paper addresses the complexity reduction of stochastic homogenization of a class of random materials for a stationary diffusion equation. A cost-efficient approximation of the correctors is obtained using a method designed to exploit quasi-periodicity ...

This paper presents a physics-based analytical model for the MOS transistor operating continuously from room temperature down to liquid-helium temperature (4.2 K) from depletion to strong inversion and in the linear and saturation regimes. The model is dev ...

Surface nanostructuring enables the fabrication of materials with highly desirable properties. Nanostructured tungsten surfaces have potential applications in solar water splitting. Exposing a polished tungsten surface to helium plasma induces various surf ...

Conductive-type dynamics in complex systems in the framework of Scale Relativity Theory are analyzed. Using the Madeling scenario in the description o f complex system dynamics through continuous and nondifferentiable curves (fractal/multifractal curves), ...

This paper reports on experimental observations on TCV with a scan in upper triangularity

{\delta }_{\mathrm{up}}

, including negative triangularity, focusing on the power fall-off length

{\lambda }_{{\rm{q}}}

in L-Mode. The upper triangularity is scann ...

The technological barriers of the dimensional engineering and interfacial instability seriously hinder the scalable production of metallic (1T) transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD) monolayers. In this article, a facile and fast electron injection strateg ...

In many tokamaks ferromagnetic material, usually referred to as an iron-core, is present in order to improve the magnetic coupling between the solenoid and the plasma. The presence of the iron core in proximity to the plasma changes the magnetic topology w ...

The properties of nanometric-sized helium bubbles in silicon have been investigated using both spatially resolved electron-energy-loss spectroscopy combined with a recently developed method, and molecular-dynamics simulations. The experiments allowed for a ...

The European Dipole (EDIPO) test facility is undergoing a major upgrade of its magnet assembly, which will provide ground for testing both fusion and high-energy physics superconducting samples at variable temperature and with a background field of 15 T. I ...
