The analysis of the operation of non-linear circuits such as voltage level shifters and latched comparators and therefore prediction of their propagation delay and power consumption are challenging. This is because the operating points of the employed non- ...

Modularized Bridge Rectifier (mBR) is a promising solid-state transformer (SST) topology that replaces active front-end stages with diodes and utilizes multiple isolated DC/DC converters. This paper investigates magnetic integration schemes to mitigate the ...

The shift towards DC power distribution networks, enabled by power electronics technologies, is changing the nature of electrical power systems. Nowadays, DC power distribution networks can effectively support the high penetration of distributed energy res ...

This paper presents an ultra-miniaturized, ultra-low-power, capacitor-less CMOS ring oscillator based on dynamic leakage suppression technique. Measurement results demonstrated an oscillation frequency of 21.89 kHz and a power consumption of 7.9 nW for a s ...

The deployment of distributed photovoltaics (PV) in low-voltage networks may cause technical issues such as voltage rises, line ampacity violations, and transformer overloading for distribution system operators (DSOs). These problems may induce grid reinfo ...

The emergence of wide-band-gap (WBG) power transistors with low conduction losses and high-speed switching speeds has paved the way for more-than-ever efficient power electronics systems and huge energy saving potentials. Likewise, power density- the ratio ...

Variable speed hydroelectric units equipped with full size frequency converter (FSFC) offer high operational flexibility enabling fast operating point transitions which increase grid regulation capacities. The XFLEX HYDRO H2020 European research project ai ...

GaN-on-Si high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) exhibit excellent properties for efficient power conversion. Nevertheless, a considerable energy loss associated with the charging and discharging of the output capacitance (COSS) in these transistors se ...

This paper presents the critical parasitic elements of coupled inductors and their influence when designing a low input (12V) and ultra-high output voltage (>4000V) DC-DC Flyback Converter. The aim is to design a compact converter capable to supply the ult ...
