Utilizing a robust mean–variance model that incorporates smooth ambiguity preferences, we derive a closed-form solution for the optimal currency exposure. Within this theoretical framework, the demand for optimal currency hedging is formulated as the solut ...

Using (27.12 +/- 0.14) x 10(8) psi(2S) events collected by the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII, we search for the decay eta(c) (2S) -> p (p) over bar via the process psi(2S) -> gamma eta(c)(2S) and only find a signal with a significance of 1.7 sigma. T ...

The ability to measure unbiased weak-lensing (WL) masses is a key ingredient to exploit galaxy clusters as a competitive cosmological probe with the ESA Euclid survey or future missions. We investigate the level of accuracy and precision of cluster masses ...

The estimation of uncertainties in cosmological parameters is an important challenge in Large-Scale-Structure (LSS) analyses. For standard analyses such as Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) and Full-Shape two approaches are usually considered. First: anal ...

Deep learning has shown remarkable potential for industrial applications, particularly in predictive maintenance and condition monitoring. A key challenge in this domain is prognostics, specifically predicting the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of assets - a ...

We present the experimental campaigns – namely, three per facility – carried out between 2018 and 2021 in the AKR–2 and CROCUS zero power reactors within the framework of the Horizon 2020 European project CORTEX. Their purpose was to produce high-quality a ...

Introduction: The preservation of the human self—a fundamental yet underexplored aspect of neurosurgical practice—has gained increasing attention in recent years. Research question: How can neural correlates of self-consciousness be identified, monitored, ...

The performance loss rate (PLR) is a key parameter in the assessment of photovoltaic (PV) systems' long-term performance and reliability. Despite the lack of industry-wide consensus and standardised methods for extracting PLR values from field data, the ye ...

Devising genetic interventions for desired cellular phenotypes remains challenging regarding time and resources. Kinetic models can accelerate this task by simulating metabolic responses to genetic perturbations. However, exhaustive design evaluations with ...

The measurement of Z boson production is presented as a method to determine the integrated luminosity of CMS data sets. The analysis uses proton-proton collision data, recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC in 2017 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 ...

Aerosol forcing uncertainty represents the largest climate forcing uncertainty overall. Its magnitude has remained virtually undiminished over the past 20 years despite considerable advances in understanding most of the key contributing elements. Recent wo ...

The Pixel Luminosity Telescope is a silicon pixel detector dedicated to luminosity measurement at the CMS experiment at the LHC. It is located approximately 1.75 m from the interaction point and arranged into 16 "telescopes", with eight telescopes installe ...

The social discourse surrounding the climate emergency progressively infuses the society, transforming into both micro- and macro-social injunctions to change. Yet, society - grounded in a territorial, social, and cultural contingency - appears to resist t ...

Strong-lensing time delays enable the measurement of the Hubble constant (H0) independently of other traditional methods. The main limitation to the precision of time-delay cosmography is mass-sheet degeneracy (MSD). Some of the previous TDCOSMO analyses b ...

How the neocortex modulates hindbrain and spinal circuits is of fundamental interest for understanding mo-tor control and adaptive behaviors. New work from Yang, Kanodia, and Arber demonstrates that there is an exquisite anatomical organization and functio ...

An improved measurement of the decay B0s→μ+μ− and searches for the decays B0→μ+μ− and B0s→μ+μ−γ are performed at the LHCb experiment using data collected in proton-proton collisions at √s=7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1, 2 an ...

The Cabibbo-suppressed decay Lambda b0-> chi (c1)p(-) is observed for the first time using data from proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy o ...

Design of medical sensor implants is very challenging due to numerous restrictions in terms of size and biological acceptability. In addition, large absorption and reflection of electromagnetic waves in body tissues significantly degrades the communication ...

The results of numerical simulations of cardiac electromechanics are typically characterized by a long transient before reaching a periodic solution known as limit cycle. This yields a serious computational overhead, as the only clinically relevant output ...
