Neuroendocrine (NE) transformation is a mechanism of resistance to targeted therapy in lung and prostate adenocarcinomas leading to poor prognosis. Up to date, even if patients at high risk of transformation can be identified by the occurrence of Tumor Pro ...

The chemistry of lanthanides is limited to one electron transfer reactions due to the difficulty of accessing multiple oxidation states. Here we report that a redox-active ligand combining three siloxides with an arene ring in a tripodal ligand can stabili ...

A new miniaturized micro sequential injection coupled with the lab-on-valve (mu SIA-LOV) technique was full-blown to perform inhibitory studies on dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR). The system was used to evaluate the DHFR inhibition activity of metal-based a ...

Drug combinations are extensively used to treat cancer and are often selected according to complementary mechanisms. Here, we describe a cell-based high-throughput screening assay for identification of synergistic combinations between broadly applied plati ...

Ruthenium(II) arene complexes of 1,4,7-triaza-9-phosphatricyclo[5.3.2.1]tridecane (CAP) were obtained. Cytotoxicity studies against cancer cell lines reveal higher activity than the corresponding PTA analogues and, in comparison to the effects on noncancer ...

The cyclopentadienyl (Cp) group is a very important ligand for many transition-metal complexes which have been applied in catalysis. The availability of chiral cyclopentadienyl ligands (Cp-x) lags behind other ligand classes, thus hampering the investigati ...

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an effective clinical treatment for a number of different cancers. PDT can induce hypoxia and inflammation, pro-angiogenic side effects, which may counteract its angio-occlusive mechanism. The combination of PDT with anti-angi ...

Hqpzc has been synthesized by a highly efficient procedure using the ionic liquid TBAB as an environmentally benign reaction medium. [Cu(qpzc)(OAc)]H2O (1) and [Zn(qpzc)(OAc)(H2O)] (2), complexes of the deprotonated ligand, qpzc [qpzc ...

A series of cationic dinuclear p-cymene ruthenium complexes containing three thiolato bridges with different substituents at the sulfur atoms, (eta(6)-p-(MeC6H4Pr)-Pr-i)(2)Ru-2(mu(2)-SR1)(2)(mu(2)-SR2) (R-1 = CH2Ph, R-2 = Ph: 4; R-1 = CH2Ph, R-2 = p-( ...

The arene osmium metalla-prism (p-cymene)(6)Os-6(donq)(3)(tpt)(2) (2) (donq 5,8-dioxydo-1,4-naphthoquinonato, tpt 2,4,6-tri(pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,5-triazine) has been prepared from the dinuclear arene osmium precursor [(p-cymene)(2)Os-2(donq)Cl-2] ...
