With the continuous improvement of system scale and complexity, model-based system engineering (MBSE) is of great importance in the practice of system engineering (SE). MBSE has been widely concerned in industry, especially in the field of complex equipmen ...

This paper reports on the computation of a discrete logarithm in the finite field F-230750, breaking by a large margin the previous record, which was set in January 2014 by a computation in F-29234. The present computation made essential use of the elimina ...

Over the last 11 years, the field of Memristive Sensors abruptly emerged in literature. The present review paper has the aim to acknowledge such an exciting new field of research as well as to critically review its most significant outcomes. As usual in sc ...

In this work, we use finite elements simulations to study the far field properties of two plasmonic structures, namely a dipole antenna and a cylinder dimer, connected to a pair of nanorods. We show that electrical, rather than near field, coupling between ...

We provide an introduction to Gaussian process regression (GPR) machinelearning methods in computational materials science and chemistry. The focus of the present review is on the regression of atomistic properties: in particular, on the construction of in ...

We illustrate how, contrary to common belief, transient Fluctuation Relations (FRs) for systems in constant external magnetic field hold without the inversion of the field. Building on previous work providing generalized time-reversal symmetries for system ...

We present in this paper an extension of the guided-wave M-component model of Rakov et al. considering the presence of a vertically elevated strike object. The tall object is represented as a lossless, uniform transmission line. Expressions for the current ...

In this Letter, we present the photonic nanojet as a phenomenon in a structured light generator system that is implemented to modify the source focal spot size and emission angle. The optical system comprises a microlens array that is illuminated by a focu ...

The anisotropy of brain white matter microstructure manifests itself in orientational-dependence of various MRI contrasts, and can result in significant quantification biases if ignored. Understanding the origins of this orientation-dependence could enhanc ...

Motivated by the recent generalization of the Haldane conjecture to SU(3) chains [Lajko et al., Nucl. Phys. B924, 508 (2017)] according to which a Haldane gap should be present for symmetric representations if the number of boxes in the Young diagram is a ...

In this thesis we study various one-dimensional quantum spin systems with SU(2) and SU(N) symmetry. We investigate the short-distance behavior of the SU(2) Heisenberg model in the limit of large spin and show that there exists an extended regime where pert ...
