High-power tunable lasers are intensely pursued due to their vast application potential such as in telecom, ranging, and molecular sensing. Integrated photonics, however, is usually considered not suitable for high-power applications mainly due to its smal ...

In the context of growing concerns about power disruptions, grid reliability and the need for decarbonization, this study evaluates a broad range of clean backup power systems (BPSs) to replace traditional emergency diesel generators. A scenario-based stoc ...

The output of inductive power transfer (IPT) systems typically depends heavily on the load resistance and the coupling conditions of the inductive coupler. In this article, we implement variable frequency control and phase-shift control to enhance misalign ...

In preparation for error field (EF) identification experiments in ITER, a series of experiments have been conducted at JET to test the portability of the non-disruptive compass scan, a method originally designed and tested in DIII-D (Paz-Soldan et al 2022 ...

Facial paralysis is a highly burdening condition, resulting in a patient's inability to move his musculature on one or both sides of the mouth. The restoration of facial movement is crucial for enhancing the overall patients' quality of life. The use of DE ...

In traditional power delivery networks, the on-chip supply voltage is provided by board-level converters. Due to the significant distance between the converter and the load, variations in the load current are not effectively managed, producing a significan ...

This paper introduces a novel method for data-driven robust control of nonlinear systems based on the Koopman operator, utilizing Integral Quadratic Constraints (IQCs). The Koopman operator theory facilitates the linear representation of nonlinear system d ...

The shift towards DC power distribution networks, enabled by power electronics technologies, is changing the nature of electrical power systems. Nowadays, DC power distribution networks can effectively support the high penetration of distributed energy res ...

In light of the challenges posed by climate change and the goals of the Paris Agreement, electricity generation is shifting to a more renewable and decentralized pattern, while the operation of systems like buildings is increasingly electrified. This calls ...
