SporTran is a Python utility designed to estimate generic transport coefficients in extended systems, based on the Green-Kubo theory of linear response and the recently introduced cepstral analysis of the current time series generated by molecular dynamics ...

Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) results in damage to neural circuitry connecting the brain to the periphery. Consequently, sensory and motor function is lost, to varying degree, depending on the site and severity of the lesion. More than half of spinal cord injur ...

The phenomenon of online dating via web and mobile phone applications involves several actors: graphical interfaces, developers, algorithmic systems for user matching, and users. These actors have been studied in parallel by the social sciences and by comp ...

The RAPTOR suite of codes combines real-time model-based predictions of the plasma state with the available diagnostic measurements. Following the work on TCV and ASDEX-Upgrade, this paper presents the implementation of the RAPTOR suite for JET. This suite ...

The characterisation of cement paste microstructure is an important step towards understanding durability mechanisms in cementitious materials. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) is a widely used technique ...

Two superposed layers of transparent cylindrical lenslet gratings create classical moiré fringes when illuminated from behind. We rely on this observation to conceive special devices made of superposed lenslet gratings that produce compelling beating shape ...

We present Visbrain, a Python open-source package that offers a comprehensive visualization suite for neuroimaging and electrophysiological brain data. Visbrain consists of two levels of abstraction: (1) objects which represent highly configurable neuroori ...

In the past, the use of tangible programming languages has shown several advantages compared to screen-based graphical programming languages. Especially when presented to novices, such interfaces may represent a more intuitive and straightforward alternati ...

In this paper, an alternative to the traditional methodology related to signal processing-like subjects is proposed. These are subjects that require a deep mathematical and theoretical basis, but the practical goal is not often emphasized, which drives stu ...

Architecture styles characterise families of architectures sharing common characteristics. We have recently proposed configuration logics for architecture style specification. In this paper, we study a graphical notation to enhance readability and easiness ...

Omnidirectional visual content is a form of representing graphical and cinematic media content which provides subjects with the ability to freely change the direction of view. Along with virtual reality, omnidirectional imaging is becoming a very important ...

Social media platforms are created and exploited for various activities carried out individually or collaboratively and relying on different resources and tools. Social media platforms are inherently contextual; the context being defined as a specific acti ...

Simulation is a key issue in the design of control electrical systems. Simulation packages using component library, such as PSIM®, are very useful to achieve this goal. The simulation model is thus easily built from the system topology (structural model). ...

Model Driven Engineering (MDE) promotes the use of models as primary artefacts of a software development process, as an attempt to handle complexity through abstraction, e.g. to cope with the evolution of execution platforms. MDE follows a stepwise approac ...

Currently, the treatment of prostate cancer under open MRI at the University of Geneva Hospital, applying high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, involves three main steps : needle implantation, dosimetric calculations and irradiation. As such, there is no pre ...
