Context. The formation of stars is governed by the intricate interplay of nonideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) effects, gravity, and turbulence. Computational challenges have hindered a comprehensive 3D exploration of this interplay, posing a longstanding ch ...

Progress in physics understanding and theoretical model development of plasma transport and confinement (TC) in the ITPA TC Topical Group since the publication of the ITER Physics Basis (IPB) document (Doyle et al 2007 Nucl. Fusion 47 S18) was summarized f ...

Electromagnetic time reversal is commonly used for field imaging and focusing. This Letter builds upon the concept of the time -reversal cavity, which constitutes the main theoretical framework of time reversal theory. We study the behavior of the fields u ...

Linear magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulations for the SMall Aspect Ratio Tokamak (SMART) have been carried out for the first time, for both positive (PT) and negative triangularity (NT) shaped plasmas using the MARS-F code. The MHD stability of projected SM ...

Raw data and Python code for the manuscript "Emergent coherent modes in nonlinear magnonic waveguides detected at ultrahigh frequency resolution". All data files and source code are provided in a zip file. .ipynb file is a python jupyter notebook file whi ...

Surfaces – by breaking bulk symmetries, introducing roughness, or hosting defects – can significantly influence magnetic order in magnetic materials. Determining their effect on the complex nanometer-scale phases present in certain non-centrosymmetric magn ...

Using the GKEngine code which simulates an electrostatic plasma with adiabatic electron response under a sheared-slab geometry, an attempt at developing a hybrid approach between the delta-f and full-f schemes to describe plasma profiles exhibiting high fl ...

Experimental results from several tokamaks suggest a strong impact of divertor density regimes on turbulent transport in the edge plasma. Reciprocally, the change in cross- field transport and Scrape-Off-Layer (SOL) width affects the access to density regi ...

Singular currents typically appear on rational surfaces in non-axisymmetric ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equilibria with a continuum of nested flux surfaces and a continuous rotational transition. These currents have two components: a surface current (D ...

Dual resonance Rubidium atomic clock requires a microwave resonator tuned to the frequency of the hyperfine transition of the Rubidium 87 isotope. The vapor cell containing the Rubidium atoms is placed within this resonator. In order to achieve a good cloc ...

We present a validation of a three-dimensional, two-fluid simulation of plasma turbulence in the TJ-K stellarator, a low temperature plasma experiment ideally suited for turbulence measurements. The simulation is carried out by the GBS code, recently adapt ...

External kink modes, believed to be the drive of the 0-limiting resistive wall mode, are strongly stabilized by the presence of a separatrix. We thus propose a novel mechanism explaining the appearance of long-wavelength global instabilities in free bounda ...

The perpendicular propagation velocity of turbulent density fluctuations is an important parameter in fusion plasmas, since sheared plasma flows are crucial for reducing turbulence, and thus an essential input parameter for turbulent transport simulations. ...

We show that isogeometric Galerkin discretizations of eigenvalue problems related to the Laplace operator subject to any standard type of homogeneous boundary conditions have no outliers in certain optimal spline subspaces. Roughly speaking, these optimal ...

We analyse the observational signatures of galactic magnetic fields that are self-consistently generated in magnetohydrodynamic simulations of the interstellar medium through turbulence driven by supernova (SN) explosions and differential rotation. In part ...

While solar-to-fuel catalysis requires the careful transfer of electrons, there are still challenges understanding how electron spin contributes to reactivity. Here, authors employ chiral fused thiadiazole-helicenes to control spin polarization in oxygen e ...

Long global gyrokinetic turbulence simulations are particularly challenging in situations where the system deviates strongly from its initial state and when fluctuation levels are high, for example, in strong gradient regions. For particle-in-cell simulati ...

We consider the problem of an impenetrable Kirchhoff rod in self-contact. The contact is assumed to be frictionless and of point-contact type. The self-contacted rod is modeled as a set of contact-free segments each having unknown length and connected in s ...

Molten Salt Reactors is a class of advanced reactors that is typically characterised by the presence of a molten inorganic salt of a fissile material as fuel. At the moment, this class of reactors is considered one of the promising options in the long run ...

Intense work studying the ballistic regime of electron transport in two-dimensional systems based on semiconductors and graphene had been thought to have established most of the key experimental facts of the field. In recent years, however, additional form ...
