Let c : A(k-1) -> R+ be convex and Omega subset of R-n be a bounded domain. Let f(0) and f(1) be two closed k-forms on Omega satisfying appropriate boundary conditions. We discuss the minimization of integral(Omega) c (A) dx over a subset of (k - 1)-forms ...

This paper proposes the application of optimization techniques to design reticular structures made from a stock of reused elements. Still little explored, the reuse of structural components over multiple service lives has the potential to reduce the enviro ...

We describe the bifurcation diagrams of almost toric integrable Hamiltonian systems on a four dimensional symplectic manifold M, not necessarily compact. We prove that, under a weak assumption, the connectivity of the fibers of the induced singular Lagrang ...

We give a generalization of toric symplectic geometry to Poisson manifolds which are symplectic away from a collection of hypersurfaces forming a normal crossing configuration. We introduce the tropical momentum map, which takes values in a generalization ...

While reduced-order models (ROMs) are popular for approximately solving large systems of differential equations, the stability of reduced models over long-time integration remains an open question. We present a greedy approach for ROM generation of paramet ...

We study differential equations that lead to extremal points in symplectic pseudospectra. In a two-level approach, where on the inner level we compute extremizers of the symplectic epsilon-pseudospectrum for a given epsilon and on the outer level we optimi ...

Trapping phenomena involving nonlinear resonances have been considered in the past in the framework of adiabatic theory. Several results are known for continuous-time dynamical systems generated by Hamiltonian flows in which the combined effect of nonlinea ...

Reduced basis methods are popular for approximately solving large and complex systems of dierential equations. However, conventional reduced basis methods do not generally preserve conservation laws and symmetries of the full order model. Here, we present ...

In this work, we focus on the Dynamical Low Rank (DLR) approximation of PDEs equations with random parameters. This can be interpreted as a reduced basis method, where the approximate solution is expanded in separable form over a set of few deterministic b ...

We prove that, given a certain isometric action of a two-dimensional Abelian group A on a quaternionic Kahler manifold M which preserves a submanifold N aS, M, the quotient M' = N/A has a natural Kahler structure. We verify that the assumptions on the grou ...

In this thesis we compute motivic classes of hypertoric varieties, Nakajima quiver varieties and open de Rham spaces in a certain localization of the Grothendieck ring of varieties. Furthermore we study the

-adic pushforward of the Haar measure under a ...

We use the averaged variational principle introduced in a recent article on graph spectra [10] to obtain upper bounds for sums of eigenvalues of several partial differential operators of interest in geometric analysis, which are analogues of Kroger's bound ...

In [GT], Goldin and Tolman extend some ideas from Schubert calculus to the more general setting of Hamiltonian torus actions on compact symplectic manifolds with isolated fixed points. (See also [Kn99,Kn08].) The main goal of this paper is to build on this ...
