129Xe dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) is a controversial topic. The gold standard technique for hyperpolarized xenon magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is spin exchange optical pumping, which received FDA approval in 2022. Nevertheless, the ve ...

As of today, dissolution Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (dDNP) is the only clinically available hyperpolarization technique for C-13-MRI. Despite the clear path towards personalized medicine that dDNP is paving as an alternative and/or complement to Positron ...

The setup, operational procedures and performance of a cryogen-free device for producing hyperpolarized contrast agents using dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (dDNP) in a preclinical imaging center is described. The polarization was optimized using ...

MR is a well-established technique routinely used in preclinical and clinical studies. This thesis focussed on the improvement of sensitivity of different methods in MR. Hyperpolarized 129Xe gas is used for studying pulmonary disease or cerebral perfusion ...

The intense but transient increase in nuclear magnetic resonance signal provided by dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) has enabled a range of new applications, including rapid, minimally-invasive metabolic imaging at the second timescale. This chapter prov ...

Magnetic Resonance Imaging combined with hyperpolarized C-13-labelled metabolic contrast agents produced via dissolution Dynamic Nuclear Polarization can, non-invasively and in real-time, report on tissue specific aberrant metabolism. However, hyperpolariz ...

Poly(triazine imide) or PTI is a promising material for molecular sieving membranes, thanks to its atom-thick ordered lattice with an extremely high density (1.6 x 10(14)pores per cm(2)) of triangular-shaped nanopores of similar to 0.34 nm diameter. Here, ...

Enhancing the sensitivity of magnetic resonance spectroscopy/imaging (MRS/MRI) by dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (dDNP) has expanded the scope of MRS applications to new fields of research. Most importantly, it has paved the way toward noninvasiv ...

Xenon is known to be a very efficient anesthetic gas, but its cost prohibits the wider use in medical industry and other potential applications. It has been shown that Xe recovery and recycling from anesthetic gas mixtures can significantly reduce its cost ...

Ligands able to complex two gadolinium ions have been synthesized and characterized in view of the ability of the complexes to increase the spin relaxation of water protons. All ligands are based on the heptadentate diethylenetriaminetetraacetic acid (DTTA ...

Hyperpolarization by dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) is a versatile technique to dramatically enhance the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signal intensity of insensitive long-T1 nuclear spins such as 6 Li. The 6 Li longitudinal relaxation o ...

Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) is, nowadays, the most well-established and widespread Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) hyperpolarization technique. With respect to other methods, the main advantage of DNP is, with no doubt, its versatility. In theory e ...

A method for the preparation of a hyperpolarized solution of molecules comprises the steps: 1) suspending or coating of a micro-particulate matrix, which is comprising or consisting of the molecules, with a glass-forming solution or suspension comprising a ...

We report proton spin noise spectra of a hyperpolarized solid sample of commonly used DNP (dynamic nuclear polarization) juice containing TEMPOL (4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine N-oxide) and irradiated by a microwave field at a temperature of 1.2K ...

Accelerating progress in the discovery and deployment of advanced nanoporous materials relies on chemical insight and structure-property relationships for rational design. Because of the complexity of this problem, trial-and-error is heavily involved in th ...

Hyperpolarization via dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) is a versatile method to dramatically enhance the liquid-state NMR signal of X-nuclei and can be used for performing metabolic and molecular imaging. It was recently demonstrated that ins ...

Hyperpolarization of substrates for magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and imaging (MRI) by dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (D-DNP) usually involves saturating the ESR transitions of polarizing agents (PAs; e.g., persistent radicals embedded in ...

Transverse and longitudinal relaxation times (T11 and T1) have been widely exploited in NMR to probe the binding of ligands and putative drugs to target proteins. We have shown recently that long-lived states (LLS) can be more sensitive to ligand binding. ...

Hyperpolarized substrates prepared via dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization have been proposed as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) agents for cancer or cardiac failure diagnosis and therapy monitoring through the detection of metabolic impairments in v ...

The surface of gamma-alumina nanoparticles can be characterized by dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) surface-enhanced NMR of Al-27. DNP is combined with cross-polarization and MQ-MAS to determine local symmetries of Al-27 sites at the surface. ...
