Diazo compounds of the type R1R2CN2 are widely used in organometallic catalysis and synthetic chemistry. Stable diazoolefins, R1R2C=CN2, have only been isolated recently. Diazoolefins undergo cycloaddition reactions and tend to be carbon donors when used a ...

A new 3.2 mm 1H–19F–X magic angle spinning dynamic nuclear polarization NMR (MAS DNP-NMR) probe was developed with a unique coil design with separate radiofrequency channels for 1H excitation and 13C or 19F detection to enable acquisition of 1H–19F cross-p ...

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-associated deaths worldwide. Platinum-based chemotherapy is the most common therapeutic approach in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly for tumors that carry non-druggable activating mutation ...

Drug combinations are extensively used to treat cancer and are often selected according to complementary mechanisms. Here, we describe a cell-based high-throughput screening assay for identification of synergistic combinations between broadly applied plati ...

Efficient polarizing agents for dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) enhanced magic angle spinning (MAS) NMR spectroscopy is of high current interest due the potential to significantly boost NMR sensitivity. While most efforts have centered on cross-effect ( ...

Although ferrocene derivatives have attracted considerable attention as possible anticancer agents, the medicinal potential of diiron complexes has remained largely unexplored. Herein, we describe the straightforward multigram-scale synthesis and the antip ...

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is fundamental in the natural sciences, from chemical analysis and structural biology, to medicine and physics. Despite its enormous achievements, one of its most severe limitations is the low sensitivity, which arises from ...

The management of advanced ovarian cancer is challenging due to the high frequency of recurrence, often associated with the development of resistance to platinum-based chemotherapy. Molecular analyses revealed the complexity of ovarian cancer with particul ...

The alkyne motif is a versatile functional group often encountered in organic chemistry. It can be involved in various transformations such as the alkyne-azide cycloaddition and has found widespread application in medicinal chemistry, chemical biology and ...

The Pt(ii) -diimine complexes [PtCl2{N-2-(HCNR)(2)}] (R = C6H11, 1; 4-C6H10OH, 2; 4-C6H4CH3, 3; 4-C6H4OH, 4) and [PtCl2{N-2-(CH3CNOH)(2)}] (5) were prepared in 60-81% yields from the 1:1 molar reactions of cis-[PtCl2(DMSO)(2)] with the appropriate -diimine ...

INTRODUCTION: NSCLC is the leading cause of cancer mortality. Recent retrospective clinical analyses suggest that blocking the receptor activator of NF-κB (RANK) signaling pathway inhibits the growth of NSCLC and might represent a new treatment strategy. M ...

Protein crystallography and biochemical assays reveal that the organometallic drug, [Ru(eta(6)-p-cymene)Cl-2(pta)] (RAPTA-C), preferentially binds to nucleosomal histone proteins in chromatin. To better understand the binding mechanism we report here a mas ...

The synthesis of a series of neutral arene-ruthenium (II) complexes (arene = p-cymene, hexamethylbenzene, and benzene) [(arene)Ru(HDB) Cl] derived from the reaction of the appropriate arene-ruthenium(II) dimers and ortho-hydroxydibenzoylmethane (HDBH), a p ...

Low throughput is one of dissolution Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (dDNP) main shortcomings. Especially for clinical and preclinical applications, where direct 13C nuclei polarization is usually pursued, it takes hours to generate one single hyperpolarized ...

Polymer nanomedicine is an attractive approach for the delivery of anticancer drugs. Firstly designed to increase drug bioavailability, polymer conjugates and polymer nanoparticles have rapidly emerged in the field of cancer therapy after the discovery of ...

ABCG2 is an ATP-binding cassette transporter that exports a wide range of xenobiotic compounds and has been recognized as a contributing factor for multidrug resistance in cancer cells. Substrate and inhibitor interactions with ABCG2 have been extensively ...

Based on the clinical success of platinum-based anti-cancer drugs such as cisplatin, carboplatin and oxaliplatin, a variety of other metal-based anti-cancer compounds are being investigated. In particular, a number of ruthenium-based compounds have been id ...

The effect of equilibration time on the composition, structure and solubility of calcium aluminate silicate hydrate (C-A-S-H) was investigated in 0.5 M NaOH solutions at Al/Si = 0.1. Longer equilibration time led to longer silica chains, to less Na and, to ...

Ruthenium compounds have become promising alternatives to platinum drugs by displaying specific activities against different cancers and favourable toxicity and clearance properties. Nonetheless, their molecular targeting and mechanism of action are poorly ...

The stepwise catalytic reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) to formic acid, formaldehyde, and methanol opens non-fossil pathways to important platform chemicals. The present article aims at identifying molecular control parameters to steer the selectivity to ...
