The 2D/3D or 2D/quasi-2D composite mixed-dimensional construction of hybrid perovskite interfaces is gaining increasing attention due to their enhanced stability toward degradation without compromising the corresponding solar cell efficiency. Much of this ...

Mixed Sn-Pb perovskites are attracting significant attention due to their narrow bandgap and consequent potential for all-perovskite tandem solar cells. However, the conventional hole transport materials can lead to band misalignment or induce degradation ...

Polycrystalline perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) have shown great promise with high efficiency and easy processability. However, PeLEDs using single-cation polycrystalline perovskite emitters have demonstrated low efficiency due to defects within ...

The rapid crystallization of mixed tin‐lead (Sn‐Pb) perovskites and their dependence on antisolvent processes limit the development of large‐area Sn‐Pb perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Vacuum‐flash‐assisted solution processing (VASP) has emerged as a promisi ...

In this work, we studied the potential of using thin films deposited by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) for two main purposes: introducing an n-type passivating contact at the front of a TOPCon solar cell, or simplifying the fabrication o ...

Cesium-formamidinium lead iodide (CsxFA1-xPbI3) perovskites are a promising methylammonium-free alternative for efficient single-junction solar cells. However, they have not been fully explored by vapor-phase deposition techniques. Herein, a template-assis ...

Despite well‐matching indoor illumination spectra, the performance of wide bandgap perovskite solar cells (WB‐PSCs) for indoor photovoltaics (i‐PV) is hindered by photo‐induced halide phase segregation and trap‐assisted non‐radiative recombination. Herein, ...

The actinides possess a complex electronic structure, making their chemical and physical properties among the least understood in the periodic table. Advanced spectroscopic tools, able to obtain deep insights into the electronic structure and binding prope ...

Sensing and imaging of light in the shortwave infrared (SWIR) range is increasingly used in various fields, including bio-imaging, remote sensing, and semiconductor process control. SWIR-sensitive organic photodetectors (OPDs) are promising because organic ...

Materials that efficiently promote the thermodynamically uphill water-splitting reaction under solar illumination are essential for generating carbon-free ("green") hydrogen. Mapping out the combinatorial space of potential photocatalysts for this reaction ...

A widely used component of high-efficiency perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is the molecular hole-transport material (HTM) spiro-OMeTAD. This organic solid needs to be p-doped to acquire sufficient hole conductivity. However, the conventional doping method us ...

The antisolvent-assisted spin-coating still lags behind the thermal evaporation method in fabricating perovskite films atop industrially textured silicon wafers in making monolithic perovskite/silicon solar cells (P/S-TSCs). The inhomogeneity of hole-selec ...

Excitons play an essential role in the optical response of two-dimensional materials. These are bound states showing up in the band gaps of many-body systems and are conceived as quasiparticles formed by an electron and a hole. By performing real-time simu ...

Perovskite-based solar cells are currently the most rapidly advancing photovoltaic technology but concerns about their long-term stability are still impeding full-scale commercialization. This thesis provides computational insights into some of the stabili ...

Luminescence constitutes a unique source of insight into hot carrier processes in metals, including those in plasmonic nanostructures used for sensing and energy applications. However, being weak in nature, metal luminescence remains poorly understood, its ...

The fabrication of high-performance perovskite solar cells on high-haze fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrates with superior light-trapping capabilities necessitates a highly conformal electron transport layer at the bottom interface. Herein, a conforma ...
