Pasquale ScarlinoI obtained my master's degree in Physics at the University of Salento, Lecce (Italy) in February 2011. During 2006-2011, I have also been a student of Scuola Superiore ISUFI (SSI). SSI is one of six schools of excellence established in Italy to develop the intellectual capital in technological and social sciences. I conducted an external Master thesis project during an 8 months internship in the Quantum Transport Group at TU Delft, under the supervision of Prof. L.M.K. Vandersypen. There, I implemented the Quantum Point Contact Radio-Frequency Reflectometry technique, which allows increasing the single-shot electron spin readout bandwidth and is currently routinely used in the group.I obtained my Ph.D. degree in February 2016, in the Spin Qubits group of Prof. L.M.K. Vandersypen at the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience-Qutech (TU Delft). During my Ph.D. I have been leading the Si/SiGe spin qubits project, collaborating with the M. Eriksson Group at Wisconsin University. In parallel, I have been working on other different projects, in particular with GaAs depletion quantum dots, high impedance superconducting resonators, and surface acoustic wave resonators. I have been working as a Postdoc fellow in the group of Prof. A. Wallraff (Quantum Device Lab) at ETH Zurich. My main project, in collaboration with the group of Prof. K. Ensslin and Prof. T. Ihn, consisted in integrating semiconductor and superconductor technologies. Realizing a well-controlled interface between the semiconductor and superconductor-based quantum information technologies may allow harnessing the best of both device architectures, for example by providing an interface between strongly coupled charge state and high coherence spin states. Furthermore, it enables the possibility to explore light/matter hybridization in a class of solid-state systems and regimes that are new in the context of quantum optics. From June 2019 till September 2020, I have been a Senior Researcher at Microsoft Station Q Copenhagen and at the Center for Quantum Devices in Copenhagen, focusing on developing semiconductor-superconducting hybrid hardware for topologically protected quantum computation.Since October 2020, I am a tenure track Assistant Professor of Physics in the School of Basic Sciences at the EPFL where I founded the Hybrid Quantum Circuit (HQC) laboratory.

Gian Luca BarbruniGian Luca Barbruni achieved his BSc and his MSc in Biomedical Engineering with specialisation in Biomedical Instrumentation at the Politecnico di Torino in 2017 and 2019, respectively.During his master thesis, supervised by Prof. Danilo Demarchi from Politecnico di Torino and titled “Body Dust: Feasibility study on signal transmission for sub-100μm-size active wireless biosensors”, he spent a semester of research at Integrated Circuit Laboratory (ICLAB) of Neuchâtel under the supervision of Prof. Sandro Carrara from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He discusses about the feasibility on creating an UltraSound (US) communication circuit to wirelessly transmit outside the body diagnostic information from multiplexed biosensors chip built on the top layer of a drinkable CMOS “Body Dust” cube. The results of the feasibility study have been published showing promising results with sub-10 µW of power consumption and a total chip area of 43 x 44 µm2.He was a Research Assistant at the Department of Electronic Engineering (DET) of Politecnico di Torino.Actually he is conducting his PhD focusing on design and fabrication of analog and digital circuits for ultra-miniaturized CMOS for vision prosthesis, directed by Prof. Diego Ghezzi at Medtronic Chair in Neuroengineering in Geneva and co-directed by Prof. Sandro Carrara at ICLAB in Neuchâtel.

Viacheslav SnigirevViacheslav Snigirev was born in 1996 in Moscow. As a holder of the 1st rank degree in Lomonosov Olympiad in Physics 2014 and of the golden medal for the academic achivements in high school, he was accepted to Lomonosov Moscow State University as a bachelor student of the Department of Physics in the same year. In 2018 he defended his bachelor thesis Ultrafast dynamics of light scattering in direct-bandgap semiconductor nanoparticles under supervision of Prof. Andrey A. Fedyanin and Dr. Alexander S. Shorokhov. He then continued to carry out research under their supervision in the area of active all-dielectric metaphotonics and joined the master program Quantum Electronics and Quantum Optics at the same university, finishing it in 2020 with the master thesis title Photo- and electrically induced modulation of optical response of Mie-resonant gallium arsenide nanoparticles and metasurfaces. The both degrees are degrees with honours containing only excellent grades. The scientific results obtained within the framework of his bachelor and master programs were presented on international conferences CLEO Europe and METANANO.
Ata Jedari GolparvarAn Electronics Engineer passionate about everything in-between wearable computing to embedded systems and circuit design. I am a Ph.D. candidate in Microsystems and Microelectronics program of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, and working there as a researcher in Integrated Circuits Laboratory (IClab), in its Bio/CMOS Interfaces division, as well as an R&D engineer at Senbiosys focused more on analog IC design and investigation of a miniaturized, non-invasive, point-of-care device to in vivo monitor of transcutaneous glucose concentration.Previously, during my master's studies at Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey between 2017 and 2019, where I was a teaching and research assistant, I turned more toward device level by joining Micro/Nano Devices and Systems lab (SU-MEMS) and specialized in wearable/flexible electronics and their applications in point-of-care devices as well as semiconductor device fabrication. Prior to grad school, I spent almost two years working as an embedded system developer in Nanopardaz, a company dedicated to designing electronic control boards for household appliances, where my responsibly mainly included software development for various embedded systems and design of electronic circuits and multilayer PCBs. I obtained my bachelor's in electronics at Azad University of Tabriz, Iran between 2012 and 2016 with specializing mostly in embedded systems and system-level circuit design.
