- Operando Water and Ion Transport: I pioneered operando high-energy X-ray scattering and fluorescence (WAXS/SAXS/XRF) to directly visualize water and ion transport in membrane–electrode assemblies. These studies revealed how water movement, flooding, and salt formation govern degradation in CO/CO2 electrolysis, establishing the dynamic transport mechanisms in confined electrochemical environments.

Andrea VezzosiAndrea Vezzosi is a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Ursula Rothlisberger at the Institute of Chemical Sciences and Engineering, EPFL (Switzerland). He earned his Ph.D. in Physics and Nanosciences from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2024, where he investigated spin–orbit coupling and topological states in core–shell semiconductor nanowires. During his doctoral studies, he developed nwkp, an open-source Python library for computing the band structure of core–shell nanowires using
Yongpeng LiuYongpeng Liu is currently a final year Ph.D. student in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) under the supervision of Prof. Kevin Sivula and Dr. Néstor Guijarro. His doctoral research consists of solution-processed photoelectrodes (metals oxides and chalcopyrite) and operando spectroelectrochemistry. So far, some of his doctoral works have been published in 21 peer-reviewed scientific journals (8 first/co-first author, 5 second author, and 1 corresponding author) and have been presented in 15 conferences (8 oral presentations and 10 poster presentations). He obtained his master’s degree with distinction in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the University of Glasgow in 2016. He studied Materials Science and Engineering in Huazhong University of Science and Technology from 2011 to 2015.
