The ultimate thinness of graphene pores makes them ideal as a high-flux selective layer for manipulating molecular transport. However, due to the limited understanding of the formation of ångstrom (Å)-scale pores, controlling pore size and understanding ga ...

The present work reports a simple approach to manufacture electrocatalytically active gas diffusion electrodes (GDEs) in two steps: (i) inkjet printing and (ii) flash light irradiation from a xenon flash lamp, a process called Print-light-synthesis (PLS). ...

Porous single -layer graphene is promising as the selective layer for membrane-based gas separation thanks to the atomic thickness of the pore which can yield high permselective flux. Direct synthesis of porous graphene by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) i ...

High-permeance, molecular-sieving, nanoporous single-layer graphene (NSLG) membranes are highly promising for gas separation. However, the formation of cracks during the transfer of NSLG to a low-cost porous support is difficult to avoid. These cracks are ...

Nanoporous single-layer graphene is promising as an ideal membrane because of its extreme thinness, chemical resistance, and mechanical strength, provided that selective nanopores are successfully incorporated. However, screening and understanding the tran ...

Controlling the size of single-digit pores, such as those in graphene, with an & Aring; resolution has been challenging due to the limited understanding of pore evolution at the atomic scale. The controlled oxidation of graphene has led to & Aring;-scale p ...

Generating pores in graphene by decoupled nucleation and expansion is desired to achieve a fine control over the porosity, and is desired to advance several applications. Herein, epoxidation is introduced, which is the formation of nanosized epoxy clusters ...

Waste tires are a major environmental concern due to their non-degradable nature and the large area occupied by them in landfills worldwide. Several recycling processes have been applied to minimize the high amount of waste tire disposal; in particular, py ...

The exposure of graphene to O-3 results in functionalization of its lattice with epoxy, even at room temperature. This reaction is of fundamental interest for precise lattice patterning, however, is not well understood. Herein, using van der Waals density ...
