Pyrene-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have tremendous potential for various applications. With infinite structural possibilities, the MOF community often relies on simulations to identify the most promising candidates for given applications. Among t ...

Cu-TDPAT (H6TDPAT = 2,4,6-tris(3,5-dicarboxylphenylamino)-1,3,5-triazine), a stable nanoporous metal-organic framework with rht topology, has sparked broad interest as an adsorbent for several chemical separation processes. In this work, in situ synchrotro ...

Drinking water contamination with heavy metals, particularly lead, is a persistent problem worldwide with grave public health consequences. Existing purification methods often cannot address this problem quickly and economically. Here we report a cheap, wa ...

A new solid-state method was used to introduce a furan-thiourea polymer into the pores of a MOF, Cr-BDC. Next, the activity of the new MOF-polymer composite containing Pd was assessed in the catalytic hydrodeoxygenation of vanillin, a biomass derived chemi ...

Preventing the permeation of reactive molecules into electronic devices or photovoltaic modules is of great importance to ensure their life span and reliability. This work is focused on the formation of highly functioning barrier films based on nanocrystal ...

The conversion of carbon dioxide into valuable chemicals through photochemical processes has been considered to be a potential technique to address environmental challenges. A good number of MOFs-based nickel (Ni-MOFs) compounds have garnered significant i ...

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a rapidly growing class of materials that offer great promise in various applications. However, the synthesis remains challenging: for example, a range of crystal structures can often be accessed from the same building b ...

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have gained much attention as next-generation porous media for various applications, especially gas separation/storage, and catalysis. New MOFs are regularly reported; however, to develop better materials in a timely manner ...

After grafting polyalkylamine species onto the ligand within a Cr 3+ -MOF, the material was tested for catalyzing cycloaddition reactions between CO 2 and 1,2-epoxybutane (EB). ...

The crystallographic characterization of framework-guest interactions in metal-organic frameworks allows the location of guest binding sites and provides meaningful information on the nature of these interactions, enabling the correlation of structure with ...

Owing to the almost boundless structural tunability, MOF and MOF‐derived catalysts have recently exhibited structures of higher complexity, and hence, have demonstrated activity in a wide array of organic transformations. These reactions have a broad range ...

Analysis of the CO2 adsorption properties of a well-known series of metal-organic frameworks M-2(dobdc) (dobdc(4-) = 2,5-dioxido-1,4-benzenedicarboxylate; M = Mg, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) is carried out in tandem with in situ structural studies to ident ...

While metal-organic frameworks (MOF) alone offer a wide range of structural tunability, the formation of composites, through the introduction of other non-native species, like polymers, can further broaden their structure/property spectrum. Here we demonst ...

The synthesis of MOFs in a two-dimensional (2D) film morphology is attractive for several applications including molecular and ionic separation. However, 2D MOFs have only been reported from structures that crystallize in lamellar morphology, where layers ...

The present invention relates to a catalyst free method for the synthesis of a ligand for polymeric tri-dimensional porous network comprising reacting a. at least one amine of formula (VII), (VIII), (IX), (X) or (XIII), with b. at least one aromatic compou ...

MOF-derived Co3S4/CN hollow nanoboxes (CN=nitrogen-doped carbon) was used to catalyze the chemoselective reduction of nitroarenes to anilines under mild reaction conditions with H-2 as the reducing agent. The catalyst provides high conversion efficiencies ...

The hydrogen storage properties of a new family of isostructural metal organic frameworks are reported. The frameworks M-2(dobpdc) (M = Mg, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn; dobpdc(4-) = 4,4'-dioxidobiphenyl-3,3'-dicarboxylate) are analogous to the widely studied M-2(do ...
