We employ a synergistic material and process development strategy to improve the performance of a single-cycle vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) process for the hydrogen purification and the CO2 separation from reforming-based hydrogen synthesis. Bas ...

The heat capacity of a material is a fundamental property of great practical importance. For example, in a carbon capture process, the heat required to regenerate a solid sorbent is directly related to the heat capacity of the material. However, for most m ...

SiO2/ZnO core/shell and composite sensors with 22-97 wt% ZnO content were synthesized by a facile ultrasonicassisted deposition-precipitation method. As for the core, uniform silica spherical particles were synthesized by a microemulsion technique. The pre ...

Growing polymers inside porous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) can allow incoming guests to access the backbone of otherwise non-porous polymers, boosting the number and/or strength of available adsorption sites inside the porous support. In the present wo ...

Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are a class of porous materials that are applicable in many energy and environmentally relevant areas, due to their unique features including unprecedented internal surface areas and easy chemical tunability. Gas separation ...

The flexibility of the ZIF-8 aperture, which inhibits a molecular cutoff of 3.4 angstrom, can be reduced by rapid heat treatment to obtain CO2-selective membranes. However, the early stages of the structural, morphological, and chemical changes responsible ...

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are promising materials for the photocatalytic H-2 evolution reaction (HER) from water. To find the optimal MOF for a photocatalytic HER, one has to consider many different factors. For example, studies have emphasized the i ...

The adsorptive removal of dyes from industrial wastewater using commercially available adsorbents is not significantly efficient. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) offer outstanding properties which can boost the separation performance over current commercia ...

Difficulty in accessing drinkable water resources, mostly originating from water pollution, has become a serious challenge for humans and the environment. Increasing population, growth of industrial activities, and the increasing demand for the agricultura ...

MOFs are a class of porous crystalline materials whose unique properties have led to applicability in several fields ranging from gas adsorption to drug delivery. Despite their high potential, MOFs are usually found as fine powders, a property that can lim ...

In this work, a detailed study is conducted to understand how ligand substitution influences the CO, and N-2 adsorption properties of two highly crystalline sodalite metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) known as Cu-BTT (BTT-3 = 1,3,5-benzenetristetrazolate) and ...

Herein we present a detailed study of the hydrogen adsorption properties of Cu‐BTTri, a robust crystalline metal–organic framework containing open metal‐coordination sites. Diffraction techniques, carried out on the activated framework, reveal a structure ...

Using azolium-based ligands for the construction of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is a viable strategy to immobilize catalytically active N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC) or NHC-derived species inside MOF pores. Thus, in the present work, a novel copper MOF ...

Since the development of porous materials, porous organic polymers (POPs) have received much attention due to advantages such as attractive architecture, large pore volume, high surface area, and immense porosity. Furthermore, their porous structure can be ...

Metal-organic frameworks are of interest in a number of host-guest applications. However, their weak coordination bonding often leads to instability in aqueous environments, particularly at extreme pH, and hence, is a challenging topic in the field. In thi ...

Introducing oligomeric or polymeric units into metal- organic frameworks (MOFs) can result in composites that have significantly improved properties when compared with the individual MOF or polymer building blocks. With such synergy in mind, this work pres ...

The application of organic-inorganic nanocomposite membranes allows for a synergy between the desirable thermal and mechanical properties of inorganic materials with the reactivity, dielectric properties, durability, flexibility, and processability of the ...

A double solvent method is for the first time used to synthesize a polymer composite that is constructed by a Ni-pyrazolate MOF and polydopamine (PDA). The resulting composite shows significantly enhanced water and CO2 adsorption properties compared to the ...

We employ the Cu-MOF-74 framework for the separation of a propane/propylene mixed stream. Performing single and binary component breakthrough experiments demonstrates that this framework has a greater capacity and affinity for propylene relative to propane ...

In this contribution, recent advances in the construction of MOF-polymer composites and their corresponding applications are briefly reviewed. The appearance of such architectures is becoming prominent in recent literature, due to the fact that the union o ...
