We present a new measurement of the mass-concentration relation and the stellar-to-halo mass ratio over the halo-mass range 5 x 10(12) to 2 x 10(14) M circle dot. To achieve this, we use weak lensing measurements from the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Str ...

We present the [O II] (lambda lambda 3729; 3726) luminosity function measured in the redshift range 0.1 < z < 1.65 with unprecedented depth and accuracy. Our measurements are based on medium resolution flux-calibrated spectra of emission line galaxies with ...

The fourth generation of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-IV) began observations in 2014 July. It pursues three core programs: the Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment 2 (APOGEE-2), Mapping Nearby Galaxies at APO (MaNGA), and the Extend ...

Sound waves from the primordial fluctuations of the Universe imprinted in the large-scale structure, called baryon acoustic oscillations (BAOs), can be used as standard rulers to measure the scale of the Universe. These oscillations have already been detec ...

New space mission profiles arise from the convergence of reduced launch prices, miniaturization of electronics and the maturation of on-orbit servicing technologies. Additionally, a shift towards challenging Lunar objectives pushes for interconnected and c ...

Context. The mass assembly of galaxies can proceed through different physical processes. Here we report on the spectroscopic identification of close physical pairs of galaxies at redshifts 2 less than or similar to z < 4 and discuss the impact of major mer ...

We describe the algorithm used to select the emission line galaxy (ELG) sample at z similar to 0.85 for the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey IV, using photometric data from the DECam Legacy Survey. Our select ...

The Hydrogen Intensity and Real-time Analysis Experiment (HIRAX) is a radio interferometer array currently in development, with an initial 256-element array to be deployed at the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory Square Kilometer Array site in Sout ...

SDSS-V project is one of the major observational cosmological projects which aims to generate the map of the observable universe by collecting spectroscopic data from the sky using optical fibers. Each optical fiber is attached to a robotic positioner to b ...

We use a joint optical/X-ray analysis to constrain the geometry and history of the ongoing merging event in the massive galaxy cluster MACSJ0416.1-2403 (z = 0.397). Our investigation of cluster substructure rests primarily on a combined strong-and weak-len ...

We present a new method to model the mass distribution of galaxy clusters that combines a parametric and a free-form approach to reconstruct cluster cores with strong lensing constraints. It aims at combining the advantages of both approaches, by keeping t ...

There is growing concern that collision risk in low Earth orbit is inadequately managed, necessitating new strategies. Based on discussions held at a multistakeholder workshop organized by EPFL in May 2021, this paper presents some challenges, or governanc ...

The shear measurement from the Dark Energy Camera Legacy Survey (DECaLS) provides an excellent opportunity for galaxy-galaxy lensing study with the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) galaxies, given the large (similar to 9000 deg(2)) sky overlap. ...

The cold molecular gas in contemporary galaxies is structured in discrete cloud complexes. These giant molecular clouds (GMCs), with 10(4)-10(7) solar masses (M-circle dot) and radii of 5-100 parsecs, are the seeds of star formation(1). Highlighting the mo ...

Detecting diffuse radio emission, such as from haloes, in galaxy clusters is crucial for understanding large-scale structure formation in the universe. Traditional methods, which rely on X-ray and Sunyaev-Zeldovich (SZ) cluster pre-selection, introduce bia ...

We present a joint optical/X-ray analysis of the massive galaxy cluster Abell 2744 (z = 0.308). Our strong- and weak-lensing analysis within the central region of the cluster, i.e. at R < 1 Mpc from the brightest cluster galaxy, reveals eight substructures ...

We present a high-precision mass model of the galaxy cluster MACS J1149.6+ 2223, based on a strong gravitational lensing analysis of Hubble Space Telescope Frontier Fields (HFF) imaging data and spectroscopic follow-up with Gemini/Gemini Multi-Object Spect ...

We introduce the LEnSed laeS in the Eboss suRvey (LESSER) project, which aims to search for lensed Lyman-alpha emitters (LAEs) in the Extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS). The final catalogue contains 361 candidate lensing systems. The ...

Mass calibration uncertainty is the largest systematic effect for using clusters of galaxies to constrain cosmological parameters. We present weak lensing mass measurements from the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Stripe 82 Survey for galaxy clusters select ...

Robotic fiber positioner (RFP) arrays are becoming heavily adopted in wide-field massively multiplexed spectroscopic survey instruments. RFP arrays decrease nightly operational overheads through rapid reconfiguration between fields and exposures. In compar ...
