This paper describes the development of a simulation tool that allows to perform trade-offs of avionic architectures for future Active Debris Removal (ADR) space missions. ...

We select satellite galaxies from the galaxy group catalogue constructed with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey spectroscopic galaxies and measure the tangential shear around these galaxies with the source catalogue extracted from the Canada-France-Hawaii Teles ...

We perform SubHalo Abundance Matching (SHAM) studies on UNIT simulations with {sigma, V-ceil, v(smear)}-SHAM and {sigma, V-ceil, f(sat)}-SHAM. They are designed to reproduce the clustering on 5-30 h(-1) Mpc of luminous red galaxies (LRGs), emission-line ga ...

We studied the chronology of galactic bulge and disc formation by analysing the relative contributions of these components to the B-band rest-frame luminosity density at different epochs. We present the first estimate of the evolution of the fraction of re ...

We study the evolution of star-forming galaxies with 10(10)M(circle dot) < M-* < 10(11.6)M(circle dot) over the redshift range of 0.7 < z < 1.2 using the emission-line galaxies (ELGs) in the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS). By appl ...

We report a detection of the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) feature in the flux-correlation function of the Ly alpha forest of high-redshift quasars with a statistical significance of five standard deviations. The study uses 137 562 quasars in the redsh ...

Context. Lyman-break galaxies (LBG) and narrowband (NB) surveys have been successful at detecting large samples of high-redshift galaxies. Both methods are subject to contamination from low-redshift interlopers. Aims. Our aim is to investigate the nature o ...

We measure the cross-correlation of cosmic microwave background (CMB) lensing convergence maps derived from Atacama Cosmology Telescope data with galaxy lensing convergence maps as measured by the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Stripe 82 Survey. The CMB-ga ...

The DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys (http://legacysurvey.org/) are a combination of three public projects (the Dark Energy Camera Legacy Survey, the Beijing-Arizona Sky Survey, and the Mayall z-band Legacy Survey) that will jointly image approximate to 14,000 ...

We present reverberation-mapping (RM) lags and black hole mass measurements using the C IV lambda 1549 broad emission line from a sample of 348 quasars monitored as a part of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey RM Project. Our data span four years of spectroscopi ...

Projects such as "The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument" (DESI) [1] or "The Multi Object Optical and Near-infrared Spectrograph" (MOONS) [5] are developing spectrographs, composed of more than thousand of optical fibers in a confined hexagonal focal pla ...

We describe the algorithm used to select the luminous red galaxy (LRG) sample for the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS) of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey IV (SDSS-IV) using photometric data from both the SDSS and the Wide-field Infrare ...

Robotic fiber positioners play a vital role in the generation of massive spectroscopic surveys. The more complete a positioners set is coordinated, the more information its corresponding spectrograph receives during an observation. The complete coordinatio ...

Multiplexed surveys have the ambition to grow larger for the next generation of focal plane instruments.Future projects such as Spec-S5, MUST, and WST have an ever-growing need for multi-object spectroscopy (13,000-20,000 simultaneous objects) which demand ...

The Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Reverberation Mapping program monitors 849 active galactic nuclei (AGNs) both spectroscopically and photometrically. The photometric observations used in this work span over 4 yr and provide an excellent baseline for var ...

We describe here a novel design of a fast high-density robotized fiber positioner system for massive spectroscopic surveys. The fiber positioners are compact, robust, and they can be coordinated, allowing for a high spatial density. Furthermore, the high a ...

The first Swiss Space Sustainability Research Days, held from January 6–8, 2025, in Les Diablerets, brought together over 50 experts from Swiss research institutions and industry. Participants explored key topics including the environmental impact of space ...

In this paper, we compare three methods to reconstruct galaxy cluster density fields with weak lensing data. The first method called FLens integrates an inpainting concept to invert the shear field with possible gaps, and a multi-scale entropy denoising pr ...

Astrobot swarms are used to capture astronomical signals to generate the map of the observable universe for the purpose of dark energy studies. The convergence of each swarm in the course of its coordination has to surpass a particular threshold to yield a ...
