Background and Objectives: Red blood cells (RBCs) suffer from lesions during cold storage, depending in part on their ability to counterbalance oxidative stress by activating their antioxidant defence. The aim of this study was to monitor the antioxidant p ...

This work investigates the effect of current density on the hydrogen gas bubble formation during electrolysis on a platinum electrode. Local detection of bubble evolution was performed electrochemically by using a hydrogen-collecting microelectrode placed ...

The present invention describes an adhesive tape stripping transfer method for quick and non-invasive diagnosis of skin diseases by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry analysis. Cells from the epidermis layer of a suspicious skin area of a patient are collected us ...

Imaging samples on a surface by mass spectrometry (MS) requires the combination of MS detection with a scanning mode that enables localized desorption and ionization and/or detection of sample analytes with good spatial resolution. We have developed a new ...

Scanning electrochemical microscopy with soft microelectrode array probes has recently been used to enable reactivity imaging of extended areas and to compensate sample corrugation perpendicular to the scanning direction. Here, the use of a new type of mic ...

Although tremendous progress has been made in the diagnosis of melanoma, the identification of different stages of malignancy in a reliable way remains challenging. Current strategies rely on optical monitoring of the concentration and spatial distribution ...

Perovskite solar cells with mesoporous TiO2 electron transport layers have previously reached >22 % efficiency at the laboratory scale (

We report the mapping of biocatalytically active surfaces, particularly on an express search for optimal immobilization conditions of the enzyme lactate oxidase by means of scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). With this aim, soft stylus SECM probes ...

Continuous hydrothermal flow synthesis (CHFS) is a facile, upscalable and cost-efficient synthetic method enabling the nanostructuring of advanced functional materials in steady conditions, i.e. not in batch synthesis. In this paper, we use CHFS to crystal ...

This work describes a new sensitive sensor for the simultaneous electrochemical determination by square wave anodic stripping voltammetry of Cd2+ and Pb2+ ions in aqueous solution, based on a disposable ink-jet-printed graphene electrode (IPGE) modifed by ...

Herein, we present the large scale fabrication of carbon nanotubes (CNT) electrodes supported on flexible polymeric sheets by subsequent multilayer inkjet printing of a silver layer for electrical connection, CNT layers as active electrode material and an ...

Herein, we introduce three orthogonal and compatible methods for detecting tyrosinase, a key factor in fruit browning and skin disorders, with high spatial resolution by means of scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). All methods are performed subsequ ...

Specialized microelectrode probes fabricated in a soft polymer film now make it possible to use scanning electrochemical microscopy to image the reactivity of large, corrugated, tilted, and dry surfaces. ...

In this work, a simple procedure for the preparation of an inkjet printed disposable graphene electrode is reported. Commercial graphene ink was printed on a kapton substrate and the resulting electrode was 30 min treated by oxygen plasma, then modified by ...

We present a non-invasive electrochemical strategy for mapping the antioxidant (AO) activity of apple peels, which counterbalances oxidative stress caused by various external effectors. Soft carbon microelectrodes were used for soft probe scanning electroc ...

Print-Light-Synthesis (PLS) combines the inkjet printing of a ruthenium precursor ink with the simultaneous photo-induced generation of ruthenium oxide films. During PLS, inkjet-printing generates on conductive as well as insulating substrates micrometer-t ...

This manuscript presents a push-pull electrochem. scanner able to image reactivity of initially dry surfaces by scanning electrochem. microscopy (SECM) and to probe mols. present or generated at the surface by mass spectrometry (MS). The proof-of-concept i ...

This chapter discusses the soft microfluidic scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) probes represent a versatile tool for supporting various investigations ranging from the electrochemical characterization of different surfaces to the local perturbatio ...

Here we report the design of a disposable single-drop voltammetric sensor for the quantitative determination of antipsy-chotic drug trifluoperazine (TFP). The sensor was build using inkjet-printed carbon nanotube (CNT) electrodes which were modified with d ...

Inkjet printing is a very powerful digital and mask-less microfabrication technique that has attracted the attention of several research groups working on electrochemical energy conversion concepts. In this short review, an overview is given about recent e ...
