The increasing processing capability of Multi-Processor Systems-on-Chips (MPSoCs) is leading to an increase in chip power dissipation, which in turn leads to significant increase in chip temperature. An important challenge facing the MPSoC designers is to ...

This paper presents a thermal model to analyze the temperature evolution in the shared register files found on VLIW systems. The use of this model allows the analysis of several factors that have an strong impact on the heat transfer: layout topology, plac ...

Wireless body sensor nodes (WBSNs) are miniaturized devices that are able to acquire, process and transmit bio-signals (such as electrocardiograms, respiration or human-body kinetics). WBSNs face major design challenges due to extremely limited power budge ...

Current Systems-On-Chip execute applications that demand extensive parallel processing. Networks-On-Chip (NoC) provide a structured way of realizing interconnections on silicon, and obviate the limitations of bus-based solutions. NoCs can have regular or a ...

This work presents a new modular and lowcomplexity algorithm for the delineation of the different ECG waves (QRS, P and T peaks, onsets and end). Involving a reduced number of operations per second and having a small memory footprint, this algorithm is int ...

This database is meant to evaluate the performance of denoising and delineation algorithms for PPG signals affected by noise. The noise generator allows applying the algorithms under test to an artificially corrupted reference PPG signal and comparing its ...

Very deep submicron process technologies are ideal application fields for NoCs, which offer a promising solution to the scalability problem. This article sheds light on the benefits and challenges of Noc-Based interconnect design in nanometer CMOS. The aut ...

A medical system comprising a first wearable device configured to be worn by a first hand of a user, a second wearable device configured to be worn by a second hand of the user, a first sensor device arranged on the first wearable device, the first sensor ...

The use of drones is recently gaining particular interest in the field of search and rescue. However, particular skills are still required to actively operate in a mission without crashing the drone. This limits their effective and efficient employment in ...

Previous studies have demonstrated that, up to a certain degree, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) can tolerate arithmetic approximations. Nonetheless, perturbations must be applied judiciously, to constrain their impact on accuracy. This is a challengi ...
