Several studies have been done or have been started in order to extend the current aeronautical Space Based Augmentation System (SBAS) DO-229D Minimum Operational Performance Specification (MOPS) SBAS standard mainly defined by the Radio Technical ComiteeC ...

With modern global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals, the FFT-based parallel code search acquisition must handle the frequent sign transitions due to the data or the secondary code. There is a straightforward solution to this problem, which consis ...

Recent studies have shown that weak Global Navigation Satellites System (GNSS) signals could potentially be used to navigate from the Earth to the Moon. This would increase autonomy, robustness and flexibility of the navigation architectures for future lun ...

New generation of satellite navigation signals, such as AltBOC (Alternative Binary Offset Keying), CBOC (Composite Binary Offset Keying) and TMBOC (Time Multiplex Binary Offset Keying) bring enhancements in the tracking process, such as more signal power, ...

We describe the experimental framework that we have developed to study the use of synthetic aperture in GNSS receivers to estimate and mitigate multipath interference. By combining the signal received by a single moving antenna during different time instan ...

A prototype of a high-density multielectrode array for in vitro recording of electrogenic cell networks has been developed. On a surface of 1.92x1.92mm2, it includes 32x32 pixels with a dimension of 60x60µm2. For local amplification of the sensed extracell ...

This paper describes a detailed design procedure for an efficient thermal body energy harvesting integrated power converter. The procedure is based on the examination of power loss and power transfer in a converter for a self-powered medical device. The ef ...

The principle of wireless communications originates from the need to communicate between two points separated by a distance sufficiently large to prevent the use of wires. This article talks about modern receivers in which the basic building blocks of mode ...

The wireless sensor nodes are most energy-efficient when they operate at the minimal operating voltage. The nominal voltage of the batteries used is often significantly higher. This paper analyzes DC-DC power conversion from the point of view of ultra low- ...

Recent studies have shown that weak Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals could potentially be used to navigate from the Earth to the Moon. This would increase autonomy, robustness and flexibility of the navigation architectures for future luna ...

In this paper we present an efficient method for Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) of occluded images using DCT-phase. The proposed method utilizes a novel correlation metric for ternary-valued DCT-phase, as well as a region merging method to reconstruc ...

This paper describes a system to drive piezoelectric actuators over more than one decade of voltages and one octave of frequencies, in order to perform high-speed complex impedance characterization at a user chosen voltage excitation level. This characteri ...

The acquisition of global navigation satellite system signals can be performed using a fast Fourier transform (FFT). The FFT-based acquisition performs a circular correlation, and is thus sensitive to potential transitions between consecutive periods of th ...

There are mainly three well-known techniques to acquire a GNSS signal. The first, called Serial Search Acquisition, consist in correlating the Pseudo-Random Noise (PRN) codes for all the codes phases and all the frequency bins. The two others make use of t ...

The innovative spreading codes used to modulate the new Galileo signals creates new challenges for receiver designers. It is well known in GNSS systems that longer integration times are needed to obtain a better sensitivity. However, the existence of the n ...

The Hall cells intended for industrial applications are mainly produced in silicon integrated circuit technology. Recently, the increased use of other technologies, such as GaAs, InAs and InSb, have been reported. However, a single chip solution comprising ...

During the last years, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) reflectometry (GNSS-R) receivers have proven in several field experiments that GNSS signals reflected and scattered from the Earth’s surface can be used in passive remote sensing application ...

The modern global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) signals, such as the Global Positioning System (GPS) L5 and L1C, and Galileo E5 and E1, have brought several innovations: the introduction of a pilot channel that does not contain any data to allow very ...

In this paper, a 120mV input startup circuit based on novel charge pump architecture is proposed. The startup circuit can boost input voltages ranging from 120mV to 300mV while supplying voltages 280mV to 1.6V at the output with approximately 23% efficienc ...

A new bio-interface for active MEAs is presented in this paper. Unlike standard approaches that deposit MEA electrodes using post-processing of the integrated circuit, the proposed structure is based on Ti/Pt microelectrodes inserted by microfabrication in ...
