The facile preparation of structured catalysts featuring highly-dispersed non-precious metal (Fe, Ni, Co) oxide nanoparticles stabilized within a super-microporous network of activated carbon fibres (ACF) is described. The catalyst morphology was controlle ...

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry allows a rapid characterization of the adducts formed between three novel anticancer ruthenium(II)-arene PTA compds. and horse heart cytochrome c or hen egg white lysozyme. Specific information on the nature of the ...

Gold( I) phosphine complexes of the general formula [AuCl(Ph(2)PfcCONHY-kappa P)], where Y is CH2CO2Me (7), CH2CONH2 (8), CH2CH2OH (9), CH(CH2OH)(2) (10), C(CH2OH)(3) (11), and CH2SO3(HNEt3) (12), and fc is ferrocene-1,1'-diyl, were prepared from [AuCl(tht ...

The water-sol. complexes [(Cp'OR)RuCl(PTA)2] (Cp'OR = h5-1-alkoxy-2,4-di-tert-butyl-3-neopentylcyclopentadienyl; R = Me, Et; PTA = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane) are considerably more cytotoxic (.apprx.2 orders of magnitude) than the cyclopentadienyl an ...

1H, 19F-HOESY studies on the ionic liq. based on 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, [C4C1i.m.]BF4, [C4C1i.m.][N(OTf)2], and, partially, [C4C1i.m.]PF6, are reported. The addn. of methanol separates the ions; however, in dichloromethane soln. the ...

This presentation will focus on research carried out in our labs. on organometallic compds. based on the ruthenium(II)-arene unit that exhibit promising in vitro and in vivo anticancer activity and potentially overcome the limitations of platinum based ant ...

Water soluble trithiolato-bridged cationic complexes of the type (eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)M-2(mu-SC6H4-p-X)(3) (M = Rh, X = H, 1; CH3, 3; OCH3, 5; Pr-i, 7; Bu-t, 9; M Ir, X = H, 2; CH3, 4; OCH3, 6; Pr-i, 8; Bu-t, 10) were synthesized and isolated as their chl ...

Direct conversion of lignin into alkanes and methanol was carried out in a two-step process (hydrogenolysis and hydrogenation) involving initial treatment of white birch wood sawdust with H2 in dioxane/water/phosphoric acid using carbon supported Ru, Pd, R ...

The present invention relates to a method for removing carbon dioxide from gases. Further, the invention relates to a method for preparing organic cyclic carbonates by reacting the carbon dioxide contained in a gas at ambient pressure with an epoxide in th ...

A versatile palladium-catalyzed double carbonylation of aryl bromides has been developed. Using Pd(OAc)2/BuPAd2 as the catalyst system and DBU as the base, under relatively low CO pressure, various a-ketoamides were produced in good yields. In order to get ...

The mol. vol. Vm (i.e., the sum of the ionic vols. Vion of the constituent ions) of an ionic liq. (IL) in combination with an anion-dependent empirical relationship is all one needs to predict phys. properties such as viscosity, cond., and d. of [N(CN)2]-, ...

The electrochemical reduction of CO2 to CO is a reaction of central importance for sustainable energy conversion and storage. Herein, structure activity relationships of a series of imidazolium-based cocatalysts for this reaction are described, which demon ...

The invention provides ionic polymers (IP) consisting of anions and a polymeric backbone containing cations. The invention also provides the ionic polymers incorporated in membranes or attached to solid supports and use of the ionic polymers in processing ...

An efficient method for the synthesis of amides via Pd-catalyzed oxidative carbonylation of C(sp(3))-H bonds with CO and amines is described. The route efficiently provides substituted phenyl amides from alkanes. ...

A series of hydrophilic N,N-dimethylpyrrolidinium-and N,N-dimethylpiperidinium-based ionic liquids (ILs) have been prepared and applied as reaction media in the Wacker oxidation of styrene by hydrogen peroxide using PdCl2 as the catalyst. The efficiency of ...

Nanozymes are increasingly used as components in assays and diagnostics. Here, we describe a rapid and highly sensitive colorimetric assay for the detection and quantification of glutathione (GSH) employing MnO2 nanosheets as an artificial oxidase. In the ...
