The homoditopic ligand

H_2L^{C3}

has been designed to form neutral triple-stranded bimetallic helicates of overall composition [

Ln_2(L^{C3})_3

]. The grafting of the polyoxyethylene fragments ensures water solubility and also favors cell penetration whi ...

We discuss the successful transport of jurkat cells and 5D10 hybridoma cells using a reciprocating micropump with nozzle-diffuser elements. The effect of the pumping action on cell viability and proliferation, as well as on the damaging of cellular membran ...

The cellular uptake mechanism and intracellular distribution of emissive lanthanide helicates have been elucidated by time-resolved luminescence microscopy (TRLM). The helicates are non-cytotoxic and taken up by normal (HaCat) and cancer (HeLa, MCF-7) cell ...

Miniaturized system for bioanalysis have been constantly gaining importance and interest within the recent years. The reduction of sample consumption and reaction time are some of the major advantages of such lab-on-a-chip applications. One of the greatest ...

Lanthanide bioprobes and bioconjugates are ideal luminescent stains in view of their low propensity to photobleaching, sharp emission lines and long excited state lifetimes permitting time-resolved detection for enhanced sensitivity. In this paper, we expa ...

PDMS-based microfluidic devices combined with lanthanide-based immunocomplexes have been successfully tested for the multiplex detection of biomarkers on cancerous tissues, revealing an enhanced sensitivity compared to classical organic dyes. ...

We present an active mixer based on the creation of virtual source-sink pairs in a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) chip. Perfect mixing is achieved in only a sub-second time interval for a compact 5 μL mixing volume. This excellent performance is achieved than ...

Water-soluble triple-stranded [Ln2(L)3] helicates have been successfully tested as imaging probes in human cervical adenocarcinoma cells (HeLa), the complex being not toxic and clearly staining their cytoplasm in a concentrationdependent manner. ...

We demonstrate a simple and fast method for self-assembly-driven micropatterning of protein functionalized magnetic beads on glass. We use positively charged aminosilane micro-patterns as template for selective immobilization of streptavidin-coated beads b ...

Merge, Mix, Split and Transport, these are the main manipulation steps used for on-chip droplet-based DNA purification (see figure). The system is able to extract genomic material from dilute cell samples by using the actuation of magnetic microparticles w ...
