Wireless sensor nodes (WSNs) are the fundamental part of an Internet of Things (IoT) system for detecting and transmitting data to a master node for processing. Several research studies reveal that one of the disadvantages of conventional, battery-powered ...

This paper presents wideband tunable band-stop filters working in the Ku to Ka-band frequencies based on a miniature single-MEM device combining a central capacitive MEM switch with AlN dielectric and inductive suspension arms. An outstanding 55% tuning ra ...

This article presents an implantable wireless system for remote hemodynamic monitoring, which enables direct, continuous (24/7), and simultaneous measurement of pulmonary arterial pressure (PAP) and cross-sectional area (CSA) of the artery. The implantable ...

A system for wireless power transfer and data communication of implantable bio-monitoring systems is presented. The proposed solution uses a servo-controlled power transmitter moved under the animal moving space. An x-y movable magnetic coil transmits the ...

This paper presents a novel architecture for wireless communication systems made up of a base station and a remotely powered transponder. The architecture enables the base station to perform wireless voltage regulation (WVR) of the rectifier's output volta ...

Wireless sensor nodes (WSNs) are generally powered by batteries, which results in a substantial limitation to the places where the nodes can be installed, to the maximum number of deployable devices, and to the node lifetime. To meet the demand for Interne ...

This paper presents an inductive power link for remote powering of a wireless cortical implant. The link includes a Class-E power amplifier, a gate driver, an inductive link, and an integrated rectifier. The coils of the inductive link are designed and opt ...

Energy detection (ED) has been of interest for various applications ranging from very low frequency biomedical signal read-out to high frequency wireless communication. The analog implementation of the ED requires circuits with a non-linear transfer charac ...

A low-power pulse position modulation (PPM) demodulator has been developed for remotely powered batteryless implantable devices. The required power for the implantable device is provided by the magnetic coupling with the external array of powering of coils ...

to follow up patients who inject themselves insulin with injection pen is a quite complex task. Due to the repetition of injections, and the numerous influent parameter the patient can easily made an injection mistake and it is difficult for health-takers ...

An universal remote powering and communication system is presented for the implantable medical devices. The system be interfaced with different sensors or actuators. A mobile external unit controls the operation of the implantable chip and reads the sensor ...

Asset tracking involving accurate location and transportation data is highly suited to wireless sensor networks (WSNs) featuring battery-less nodes that can be deployed in virtually any environment and require little or no maintenance. In response to the g ...

This paper presents a fully integrated low power class-E power amplifier and its integration to remotely powered sensor system. The on-chip 1.2 GHz power amplifier is implemented in 0.18 A mu m CMOS process with 0.2 V supply. The implantable system is powe ...

Smart agriculture systems, which integrate sensors and data analysis into agricultural production processes, are increasingly proving an effective solution for reducing food production waste, yield production increase, and product quality improvement. In t ...

This letter presents the design of a 13.56 MHz offset-enhanced full-wave active rectifier, tailored for wirelessly powered biomedical implants. The design incorporates digitally assisted, delay-compensated active diodes and symmetrical bulk biasing in the ...

Recently a new technique based on capacitive sensing has been developed and used to estimate the amount of moisture in polymers by means of the deviation of the dielectric constant. This technique is expected to be used for in-line monitoring of aggregate ...

The impulse radio-ultra wide band (IR-UWB) signalling format has been an attractive mode for wireless communication in wireless sensor node system. The super-regenerative principle can be used for impulse reception for its inherent advantages. The oscillat ...

This paper presents fabrication and RF characterization results of spiral inductors fabricated using a developed damascene-like thick-copper / polyimide process module. This module has low thermal budget and is compatible with current IC interconnect archi ...

In this work, we showed the realization of a fully- implantable device that integrates a microfabricated sensing platform, a coil for power and data transmission and integrated circuits. We described a device intended to test the biocompati- bility of the ...

This paper presents the analysis of inductive links for remote powering of implantable devices and a method to improve the power link efficiency by modifying the geometrical parameters of planar spiral inductors. The analysis of the inductive links include ...
