Triarylamine-substituted bithiophene (BT-4D), terthiophene (TT-4D), and quarterthiophene (QT-4D) small molecules are synthesized and used as low-cost hole-transporting materials (HTMs) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The optoelectronic, electrochemical, ...

Mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticle films are used as photoanodes for high efficiency dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC). In spite of excellent photovoltaic power conversion efficiencies (PCE) displayed by titanium dioxide nanoparticle structures, the transport rat ...

The perovskite photovoltaic technology is now transitioning from basic research to the pre-industrialization phase. In order to achieve reliable and high-performance commercial perovskite solar modules, high throughput manufacturing technologies must now b ...

We present the first evidence of charge injection improvement in an organic electroluminescent device provided by a single ionic molecular layer. A hole-dominated, hybrid organic-inorganic light-emitting device is used as a probe to verify the effectivenes ...

Electroluminescent devices have the potential to reshape lighting and display technologies by providing low-energy consuming solutions with great aesthetic features, such as flexibility and transparency. In particular, light-emitting electrochemical cells ...

Efficient organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) can be obtained using multilayered architectures where the processes of charge injection, transport and recombination are separated and optimized in each layer. Processing these structures from solution requi ...

The power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has been certified as a-22.1%, approaching the best single crystalline silicon solar cells. The improvement in the performance of PSCs could be achieved through the testing of novel materials ...

Tandem photovoltaics (PV) is a promising new technology that can improve the efficiency of the current PV modules, even higher than the theoretical limit of the single-junction solar cells. To assess the commercialization potential of these tandem devices and transfer them from the lab to the market, a techno-economic analysis is conducted. The large-scale manufacturing costs of four high-efficiency two-terminal perovskite-silicon tandem that have been fabricated in the lab are calculated and compared with

Utilization of small molecules as passivation materials for perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has gained significant attention recently, with hundreds of small molecules demonstrating passivation effects. In this study, a high-accuracy machine learning model i ...

A series of novel bistriphenylamine-based organic sensitizers (coded as RC-dyes) with high molar extinction coefficients (>5.0 x 10(4) M-1 cm(-1)) have been synthesized for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). By changing the length of the pi-conjugation br ...

Halide perovskites are compelling candidates for the next generation of clean-energy-harvesting photovoltaic technologies owing to an unprecedented increase in power conversion efficiency and their low cost, facile fabrication and outstanding semiconductor ...

We report on the effect of substituting the two tetrabutyl ammonium counter ions of the standard N719 dye by sodium ions on the performance and stability of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). The disodium analogue of N719 in conjunction with a non-volatile ...

Inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted increasing attention in recent years owing to their low-temperature fabrication proces s. However, they suffer from a limited number of electron transport materials available with [6,6]-phenyl C-61 buty ...

Strong electron-donating functionality is desirable for many organic donor-pi-bridge-acceptor (D-pi-A) dyes. Strategies for increasing the electrondonating strength of common nitrogen-based donors include planarization of nitrogen substituents and the use ...

Photocapacitor integrating both energy harvest and storage functions into a single device is a frontier research orientation, which facilitates the efficient and sustainable utilization of green energy. However, the multi-functions in one device and struct ...

We report new bis-cyclometalated cationic indium(III) complexes ((CN)-N-boolean AND)(2)Ir(CN-tert-Bu)(2) that have tert-butyl isocyanides as neutral auxiliary ligands and 2-phenylpyridine or 2-(4'-fluoropheny1)-R-pyridines (where R is 4-methoxy, ...

Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films containing alternating layers of the metallosurfactants bis(4,4'-tridecyl-2,2'-bipyridine)-(4,4'-dicarboxy-2,2'-bipyridine) ruthenium(II)-bis(chloride) (1) and bis[2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridine](4,4'-dinonadecyl-2,2'-bipyridin ...

Starting from 2,2-bipyridine dicarboxylic acid, two new (D--A)(2) sensitizers, including m-DA with the carboxyl anchoring group substituted meta to the donor-bridge moiety and p-DA with a para-substituted anchoring group, were synthesized in order to evalu ...

Hexakis(hexyloxy)triphenylene (HAT6) discotic liquid crystal is employed as a transparent hole-transporting material (HTM) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs) and a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 15.7% is obtained, which is the highest using HAT6 type ...

Biogas upgrading technologies are crucial for the production of high-purity biomethane. Efficient CO2 removal methods that are currently commercialized rely on "catch-and-release" mechanisms, and the CO2 stream is usually discharged into the atmosphere wit ...
