Interface engineering in perovskite solar cells is key to high performance. Now, You et al. design an interlayer that both passivates defects and improves the energy level alignment between the perovskite and hole transport material. ...

A new carboxy-Zn(II) phthalocyanine bearing rigid 2,6-diarylphenyl peripheral substituents linked to the macrocycle through alkynyl spacers has been prepared by a convergent approach, which implies a triple Sonogashira coupling between the formyltriiodoZnP ...

We report the first comprehensive comparative synthetic, structural, electrochemical, and spectroscopic study of an extended series of fluorocarbon-modified iridium(III) complexes. We prepared seven new cationic Ir(III) complexes with tert-butyl isocyanide ...

The sensitization of a semiconductor-based oxidoreduction photocatalyst is carried out by fixing at its surface a colour carrier comprised of a fragment of a transition metal complex such as ruthenium, chromium or iron and of a ligand of the bipyridyl or phenanthrolyl type. The fixing of such a colour carrier results in the displacement of the light absorption band of the photocatalyst towards the visible light. Utilisation of such a catalyst for the photooxidation of aqueous liquids or organic aqueous liqu

Four new tetrathiafuIvalene (TTF)-based dyes featured with a donor-bridge-acceptor (D-pi-A) structure were synthesized and characterized. ALL of them undergo two reversible oxidations to form stable radical cation and dication species. The eIectronic inter ...

We report a novel electron-rich molecule based on 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (H101). When used as the hole-transporting layer in a perovskite-based solar cell, the power-conversion efficiency reached 13.8% under AM 1.5G solar simulation. This result is com ...

1,6-Dithiophenol-substituted perylene organic sensitizer 1 was synthesized, and its photovoltaic properties in dye-sensitized solar cells were assessed. When anchored onto TiO2 film, the dye exhibits an unprecedented incident monochromatic photon-to-curren ...

A new, all room-temperature solution process is developed to fabricate efficient, low-cost, and stable perovskite solar cells (PVSCs). The PVSCs show high efficiency of 17.10% and 14.19%, with no hysteresis on rigid and flexible substrates, respectively, w ...

We report on five cationic iridium(III) complexes with cyclometalating 2-(3'-trifluoromethylphenyl)pyridine and a diimine, (C boolean AND N)(2)Ir(N boolean AND N), N boolean AND N = 4,4'-R-2-2,2'-dipyridyl or 4,7-R-2-1,10-phenanthroline (R = H, Me, ...

Versatility of Bodipy (4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a, 4a-diaza-s-indacene) dyes was further expanded in recent dye-sensitized solar cell applications. Here we report a series of derivatives designed to address earlier problems in Bodipy sensitized solar cells. In ...

In recent research in clean energy applications, clay has gained significant interest, especially as a gelator in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), for its capability to resolve the leakage issue of liquid electrolyte. In this paper, anionic hydrotalcite ...

In pursuit of efficient quantum dot (OD)-sensitized solar cells based on mesoporous TiO2 photoanodes, a new procedure for preparing selenide (Se2-) was developed and used for depositing CdSe QDs in situ over TiO2 mesopores by the successive ionic layer ads ...

Perovskite solar cells with submicrometre-thick CH3NH3PbI3 or CH3NH3PbI3-xClx active layers show a power conversion efficiency as high as 15%. However, compared to the best-performing device, the average efficiency was as low as 12%, with a large standard ...
