Stable quasi-solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) were fabricated by using room-temperature molten salts (1-methyl-3-hexyl-imidazolium iodide), and a series of diamine derivatives with different lengths of alkyl chain as low molecular mass organog ...

The surge of the power conversion efficiency of metal halide lead perovskite solar cells comes with concerns, such as the long-term ecotoxicity of lead compounds, their sensitivity toward moisture and oxygen, or the scarcity of some of their components. Mo ...

A novel conductive catalyst was designed based on a quasi core shell structure of N-doped graphene/cobalt sulfide. This platinum-free catalyst shows high catalytic activity and conductivity owing to close interactions between the core (cobalt sulphide) and ...

Nanocrystalline tin (iv) oxide (SnO2) electron-transport layers (ETL) have shown great potential for achieving highly efficient, stable perovskite solar cells (PSCs), in particular low-temperature-processed flexible PSCs. Recently, studies have further sho ...

High photovoltages and power conversion efficiencies of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) can be realized by controlling the undesired nonradiative charge carrier recombination. Here, we introduce a judicious amount of guanidinium iodide into mixed-cation and ...

Lead halide perovskites belong to a broad class of compounds with appealing optoelectronic and photovoltaic properties. Doping with transition metal ions such as Mn2+ and Co2+ has recently been reported to substantially enhance luminescence and stability o ...

We present a photoanode for dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) based on ZnO nanoshell deposited by atomic layer deposition at 150°C, on a mesoporous insulating template. An ultrathin layer of ZnO between 3 and 6 nm, which exhibits quantum confinement effect, ...

We have designed and developed an unsymmetrical zinc phthalocyanine (TT9) sensitizer that consists of three tert-butyl and two carboxylic acid groups that act as "push'' and "pull'', respectively. The two carboxylic acid groups graft the sensitizer onto th ...

An indoline dye (D205), the synthesis method of which is disclosed in this report, gave high-efficiency organic dye-sensitized solar cells (9.52%) using an anti-aggregation reagent (chenodeoxycholic acid). ...

This invention relates to an optoelectronic and/or photovoltaic device comprising acompound used as crystal defect mitigating agent or passivating agent, said compound beingselected from a compound of formula (I),a compound of formula (II),a mixture thereo ...

A promising, yet challenging, route towards renewable production of hydrogen is the direct conversion of solar energy at a simple and low cost semiconductor/water junction. Despite the theoretical simplicity of such a photoelectrochemical device, different ...

A series of allyl-functionalized imidazolium salts are reported, including 1-allyl-3-ethylimidazolium iodide and 1-allyl-3-propylimidazolium iodide, which have m.ps. close to room temp. and show typical properties of supercooled fluids if heated above thei ...

We applied intensity-modulated photocurrent spectroscopy (IMPS) and intensity-modulated photovoltage spectroscopy (IMVS) techniques to explore the effect of rubidium (Rb) incorporation into lead halide perovskite films on the photovoltaic parameters of per ...

Although beta-CsPbI3 has a bandgap favorable for application in tandem solar cells, depositing and stabilizing beta-CsPbI3 experimentally has remained a challenge. We obtained highly crystalline beta-CsPbI3 films with an extended spectral response and enha ...

Crystallized p-type small-molecule semiconductors have great potential as efficient and stable hole transporting materials (HTMs) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs) due to their relatively high hole mobility, good stability and tunable HOMOs depending on th ...

Electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide, if powered by renewable electricity, could serve as a sustainable technology for carbon recycling and energy storage. Among all the products, ethanol is an attractive liquid fuel. However, the maximum faradaic e ...

Here we present the photovoltaic performance of solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) using a series of ullazine-based metal-free organic sensitizers and spiro-MeOTAD as a hole-transport material. A maximum of 4.95% power conversion efficiency meas ...

Controlling the growth of perovskite crystals has been one of the interesting strategies to mold their fundamental properties and exploit their potential in the fabrication of high performance solar cells. Herein, the impact of chloride on the conversion o ...

The efficiency of electric power generation by dye-sensitized mesoscopic photovoltaic cells has been progressing steadily over the last years reaching now 11% in full sunlight. An important question for practical applications concerns the stability of thes ...
